Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Nice pumpkins... ;-)
I've about decided I'm not going to try a garden next year...unless I can get the trees down that I want down. I've not really had anything do ~well~ this year. Except for the holly trees I keep trying to get rid of...

I'm signing off now. Sam tells me it's time to go to bed.
No joke. Jr. comes home from work and Sam starts pacing because he wants to go to bed. He sleeps in our room. But he's afraid to go up there by himself.
He's kinda like my grandfather. When he wanted the kids to leave, he'd start winding his clock.

Heh...my brother's Golden was afraid of the dark. He wouldn't go outside at night to do his business unless the light was on, and then stayed close to home. If the light was out for any reason, someone had to go out with him or he wouldn't go.

On my way over to get the cat :~)

Yeah, though it doesn't look so hot on my work computer. Might have to fiddle with it when I get home. I'd like to go home now. Truly.

While we sleep, other people are hard at work...
Congratulations to the Brits and whoever else helped bag these bad guys today!

Thanks and sure. I think I'm going to do a smaller version dedicated to the 'separated at birth' aspect, too.

Eek...sure hope they caught everyone.
And I'm sure there will be about a zillion articles now wherein the media complains about how inconveeeeenient the increased security is. *rolls eyes*
To: RosieCotton
Some FReepers are already complaining about the inconvenience, by people who ~don't~ have the responsibility for screening a few hundred thousand passengers a day :~)

Yeah I was watching the British Home Secretary press conference while I was at the gym. Fox was showing it.
I didn't hear what they were saying but the pictures on ABC were all about "No liquids allowed on planes."
Oh the horrors! How will we ever endure such hardship?

Yeah we are. We have no idea what hardship really is.
I forget the comic I heard say it during the first Gulf War. He said something about Israel dodging missles while we had to endure no curbside check-in.
