I really don't care who dies. I just hate it when authors leave loose ends. So dead characters are better than unanswered questions.
What?
She already killed Dumbledore, maybe because the actor who was playing him in the movie died in real life. They got a substitute for the movies he was supposed to be in, but he wasn't as charming as Richard Harris.
It's going to be hard if we lose Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger.
Sure hope she doesn't kill Harry.
Oh, JK. I'm your number one fan. I just can't wait to see how the series ends... What's this? Harry can't be dead... He has to live. You dirty bird!!!
Oh, wait...
Harry Potter is for wusses.
My money is unfortunately on Harry and Ron. :-(
>>Two 'Potter' Characters Will Die
Which ones?
--Col. Sherman T. Potter (Harry Morgan), M.A.S.H
--Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore) from It's A Wonderful Life
--Ocious P. Potter (villain played by John Goodman), the Borrowers...
Harry has to kill Snape as revenge for Dumbledore. My money's on a Weasley for the other - Ron or Ginny.
As long as she doesn't kill Hermione, I'm cool.
My money is going to Lupin (Wormtail has a sterling silver hand, afterall) and McGonagell (I'm sure I butchered her name). Remember when she yelled to Umbridge (paraphrased), "I'll make sure Harry Potter is an auror if it's the last thing I ever do!"
~Or~
Possibly Draco Malfoy-- just because he's such a little wussy mamma's boy.
Supposedly, since HPGOF there have
always been clues about the coming story
lines. Because of the many times Harry
has stated that Hogwarts is his HOME,
and having assured Lucius Malfoy that
he, Harry, "will always be at Hogwartz
to guard against future dark forces,"
I've come to see Harry as the destined
Head Master of the school. And I also
don't believe Dumbledore is dead; too
aligned with the Phoenix resurrection
and the Pence Font.
As for the two kids to be killed off,
I'm suggesting Lucius' son Malfoy as one
of them. In "The Half-Blood Prince," we
saw Malfoy making some really strange
choices of action and loyalty. He's
absolutely agog at being chosen by The
Dark Lord as a servant, despite the
attempts of Dumbledore to prevent it.
The other Hogwarts kiddo who is my
candidate for extraction is Neville
Longbottom. Voltemort had used the
Excruciatious Curse on Neville's
parents and they are still locked
up in the Asylum. I anticipate Neville
running afoul of Voltemort in some
kind of revenge scene, with Neville
losing the battle. Again as per clues
in the various books.
So there won't be a "Gone with the Wizard?"
Snape is a goner. Voldemort is going to be p*ssed. And if Snape has been working for Voldemort all this time, Harry (or better yet RON) will kill him.
Neville better live. He's been through too much. He needs to avenge his parents BIG TIME.
I don't know why, but I'm thinking that at least one Weasly will buy the farm. It SHOULD be Percy. Which means that it won't be (unless he finally comes to his senses at the last possible minute). Sadly, I think it'll be Fred or George.

Harry survives.
Harry? No. It's his series and he has to kill Voldemort. He's destined to be a great auror. She could kill off Harry, but the fans wouldn't like. Granted, she's already the richest women in England and she'll be done anyway, so it's possible. But not likely.
Hermione: she's Rowling alter ego. She gets to live and prove that mudbloods are wizards, too.
Ron: No, unless he realizes that he loves Hermione and wants to marry her. Then he's doomed. And he might get killed, too.
Ginny: She's destined for something big. She's the first female Weasley in generations. However, that doesn't preclude her from dying after or while doing something great. Longshot.
Fred and George: Likely one will buy it. It'll be shocking, probably the most shocking because they're close without being the main characters. F+G are serious wizards even if they are jokesters. It takes a lot of knowledge to create silliness like that, even though their parents wished that they'd put their efforts to better use. One dies, the other avenges his death and tries to live without the other (or live with a picture hanging in his room). Twins have a special bond and they probably have a magical bond that once severed, could spell doom, insanity or depression for the other. Likely target.
Percy: He's been a putz. He'll either stay a putz and pay a price for it, or he'll come back to Harry's side and have some kind of heroic death, a la Darth Vader. Likely target.
Snape: Doomed. Either he really isin the employ of Voldemort (not likely), in which case, he's a dead man for offing Dumbledore and anything else. Or he's working for Dumbledore and Voldemort will dispatch him. Voldemort suspects already. Might have something to do with an Unbreakable Vow.
Dumbledore: IF he faked his own death and is actually alive, he won't die twice. Yes, death is death but Albus seems to know a lot of the old magics, and seems to be capable of things that no one else is. Especially because he has his phoenix to protect him. Phoenixes rise from their ashes. They also have the power to teleport someone to outside of Hogwarts.
Hagrid: Hope not, but it's possible.
Neville: Better not be. He's already "lost" his parents. He's got serious avenging to do. He won't die in the process. If he does, I'll steal every copy of the book in print and edit the pages.
The other characters (at least the ones on the good side) are further to the fringe to be the ones that we are concerned about (except for the one or two obvious ones that I'm forgetting because it's nearly 11pm at night and I just got back from the end-of-term party.)
That's my $.02.

I'm guessing Snape, plus one of the Weasleys. As for who got the reprieve, maybe Pettigrew?
I hear that the last book is going to be called "Harry Potter and the Lake of Fire."
Harry will lose all of his powers in the final story and go back to the real world and pump gas for a living. This is an effective way to kill the series without actually having to kill Harry.
