Most company customer service still has the option "if you are calling from a rotary dial phone, please hold to speak to a representative". Even though I am not, I still bypass all that hassle of punching numbers.

I found out by accident on Voice Activated Systems if you raise your voice and let out a stream of obscenities you'll get transferred to a real person right away.
I was calling my cable company and was in Voice Mail Hell, when I got so frustrated I shouted "Son of a B****!!"... and lo and behold, I heard a click and a real person came on almost immediately.
That doesn't work with Verizon Wireless.
I speak from experience.
Get a human; hug e list to work various corporate phone trees to decrease amt. of time listening to Muzak.
