ABC Nightly News Lineup

OK, I just noted that ABC led off with three stories. One the very definite torture and killing of our two soldiers. Two, the debate in the Senate over Iraq. Three, the possible murder of an Iraqi civilian by some soldiers.
They, of course, led with the possible murder. It was as blatant an attack on the military and an unconscionable smear.
Sorry, just blowing off steam!

Second, the US Marines held a news conference announcing the charges. Were they reporting on this news conference, or did they make statements or accusations that were not part of the official charges?

I really am not commenting one way or the other on the charges. I don't happen to have the knowledge to do so. But I do know that the other two events were a h*ll of a lot more important and that ABC chose to lead with the story that did the most harm!
I am not going to argue over this . . . if not FR, where does one post something like this?

Actually, I was reading and half-listening to the local news when it changed over.
Then I went through the roof.

Actually I'm using my DVR to record and preserve media bias. The only time I ever turn into the national news is to catch their presentation of a story I already know about (more to see the angle of reporting that to learn any new details).
I rolled bytes when Zarqawi was killed in action and when Dan Rather was off CBS yesterday. In the past I rolled tape on election night (in 2000 and again in 2004).
Blocking these channels is good for your blood pressure but does nothing to challenge their bias. Either getting the news departments to alter their presentation or showing the bias to others will.
George Orwell was anti-communist but he was against the suppression of a publication like The Daily Worker because it was easier to challenge their assertions and keep tabs on the enemy.
