Wow, what a game! Carolina came out skating fast - and hitting hard.
I'm glad to see Carolina win the Stanley Cup. I watched the 2002 Stanley Cup and was disappointed when they lost to the Red Wings.
Edmonton played well and was a much stronger opponent than I thought!
Comments or opinions (on the series or the game) - anyone?

Outstanding series, and great Game 7.
I wish the NHL would give up this silly illusion that they can make this an NFL-style league where "parity" (i.e., legislated mediocrity) is the norm. Screw the salary cap and let these teams keep their rosters intact for as long as possible.

Excellent game 7! Amazing how the Canes turned it around. Good thing I'm in Raleigh.

I couldn't believe how much more physical the canes played tonight vs. game 6. When they started off hitting so much I had a good feeling. I never thought I would get into this stuff so much. (Growing up in ACC country.) What an incredible sport. I'm hooked!

Agree one of the reasons the Yankees draw extremely well on the road but thats MLB. The NHL is barely drawing 2 million viewers for this series.

Hockey? Didn't that go extinct a couple of years ago?

The Yankees draw so well on the road because this country is filled with people who used to live in the New York metropolitan area. It's actually the same in Canada . . . everyone I know up there -- primarily in western Canada -- is either a Montreal or Toronto fan.

I live in Minnesota.
Watching Carolina win the Cup before Minnesota has is blasphemous and sickening.

The 20 or so Hockey fans in NC are undoubtedly overjoyed about this!

Whatever the sport, these professional athletes are way overpaid to 'play'. Remember when Al Kaline of the Detroit Tigers refused to accept a $100,000 contract? He stated no player is worth that much money. He was right.

There was at least 28 in the bar I was in!
Super series.
Glad to see Glen Wesley carry the cup.

No but they did defrost the Ice last year.

Great game tonight. It was the only NHL game I watched all season.

Someone else back in the 1970s (I think it was Phillies pitcher Rick Wise) also said: "No one was ever paid more than he was worth."
He sure was right about that.

No the Yankees draw well because everyone hates them and are mostly fascinated by a 250 million dollar payroll that includes some of the best players the game has ever seen.

I hear ya.
But Carolina is my second favorite team and has been so for the last 5 years.
Now maybe the Wild can get it together and bring a Stanley Cup back here!
To: jlasoon
I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, but when I listen to a Yankee road game on the radio I often have trouble -- based on the timing and volume of the cheers -- figuring out which team has more fans in the seats.
When the Yankees and Baltimore were both good teams back in the mid-1990s, games at Camden Yards often sounded like Yankee home games.
