Whenever I think about The Princess Bride, my face freezes into the biggest smile...so many wonderful scenes and dialogue exchanges

...the poison goblet, "...never bet against a Sicilian with life on the line...never start a land war in China".

Absolutely the best movie ever.

Whenever you are feeling down, you must get that movie out.

AFI is queer for "To Kill A Mockingbird".

Arguably the best film adapted from a novel. Totally faithful to the book, equally brilliant in every way. Gone With Wind is another one. To Kill A Mockingbird is an extraordinary film IMO, and very "inspirational" though that's not necessarily a criteria by which to judge the greatness of a film.

78. Thelma & Louise, 1991

???????? A film about two bored ladies who blow away a rapist and go on a crime spree is inspiring? A well made film, certainly. Groundbreaking perhaps. But inspirational?

What a weird list. Too many recent movies. Where is How Green Was My Valley?? Bah.

Babe made #80......A movie about a pig?...........

There was some fantastic typology in the movie.

Consider Babe as a type of would-be christian wanting to be the shepherd of a flock. Consider Farmer Hogett as a type of God the father.

In the end when Hogett looks down on Babe, with that pleased look, the sun breaking through the sky, what does he say?

"That'll do pig"

Or more appropriately, "Well done though good and faithful servant"

That's one of the top 100 hints that your are in a dive.

Numbers three through six should be way farther down the list, if on the list at all. IMO.

Go back and watch a Sidney Poitier movie and you'll remember just how good he was.

The Professional was fantastic.

Gary Oldman was amazing as the psycho cop.

Jean Reno as the professional...and of course Natalie Portman as the child Mathilda.

I also can't believe Passion of Christ did not make the top 100. Causes it to lose credibility.

What about "Duel"? Doesn't that inspire people to drive trucks and have fun doing it?
