Austin High School Art Teacher Tamara Hoover has shown her student a lot...! Including her boobs...and now she may get fired for it..!

The Austin School Board voted last night to begin the termination process for Mrs. Hoover. Officials say she should not have appeared topless on-line. She has been paid leave since May 19th...and this morning on her My-Space account, she defends the pictures as art and not pornography.

They are firing me for pictures of me being on a website (celesta) and claiming the website is pornographic. The district isn't even asking to hear my side. At this time, I have been advised not to share too much information about my case.

A report came back from the investigation saying that I am well liked on my campus and have a good reputation of being a caring teacher who tries to help each student find their own artistic voice.

If I were a student at that school, I would be more than happy to have Ms. Hoover help me find my artistic voice....

Everyone's a star in these narcissistic times. Everyone is "special", no one is plain vanilla, everyone is VERY smart and very talented.

Where oh where will our plumbers, garbage collectors, carpenters, etc. come from what with all the "artists" and "intellectuals", or scriptwriters, playwrights out there. Who's going to do the laundry and mow the lawn (don't answer that), etc?

After a thorough review of the evidence I have to disagree.

All knuckledragging aside: WTF was she thinking? Posting it online when she has a MySpace profile that her students visit? If she wants to be a porn star or a stripper that's up to her, but she shouldn't do this while teaching.
