A Houston police officer found himself chasing two escaped bulls on I-45 Sunday night, according to a report this morning by KHOU.
The driver was getting onto the I-45 ramp from the North Loop around 11:30 p.m. when the bulls apparently got out of their trailer.
One of the animals ran through a neighborhood before a police officer was able to stop his car on the rope it was dragging, according to KHOU.
But the bull got angry and began ramming the officer's squad car until it was finally captured.
The other bull that escaped was hit by a pickup truck and had to be euthanized, KHOU reported.

You know you're a redneck if....
((and if anyone of you gets offended, be forewarned, that I stand barefooted in my own front yard with a baby on my hip! And that yard has two pick-'em-up trucks, and goats. So shush up.))

They ran off in a hoof.

It was right smack dab, close, to the middle of the city...so...not really out in the country, so, hard to apply red neck jokes to this...especially with the amount of traffic that backed up. It was horrid.

Did the driver at least get to keep the beef after getting his pickup totalled?

That's what I figured! I've almost hit a deer on the highway at night, many have been killed when that happens.

Have you seen the news blooper about the two steers loose along the highway. The news guy said they were called Black and Gus. When he wondered out loud which was which his partner said don't you think they meant they are black angus?

Could be terrorism-- if it turns out that there's abominable.

Wonder if the pickup survived it? Once I took my kids to a rodeo. The handlers turned the lights low and laid down a blanket of fog. Then came the bull who pranced around the arena, snorted, and scratched the ground with his foreleg. This bull was pure testosterone. It was truly of mythically size. I can't imagine the pickup truck was not totaled.

I can't imagine the pickup truck was not totaledI was mostly curious, knowing Houston - the traffic may have been at a standstill with all that going, lol.
It sometimes only inches along on good days, lol.

When I worked for Dallas PD it was common for cattle to get out and wander S. Lancaster Road. I wasn't stupid enough to try to round them up, though. I'd just radio for the sheriff's department. LOL!

If it had been traveling fast the bull would have come through the windshield and killed people.
