My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I bet if there was enough incentive you'd get up on the roof.

Help me! Help me!
I'm stuck in the chimney!!

I had better stay on the ground, ya think??
To: bentfeather
Lots of roofers like poets because they get poetic themselves. Oh, drat, more lightning. See ya.

I just sat an watched a t-storm pass to the south. Something about me often splits the fronts and they go to the the north and/or south. Must be my magnetic personality.

Tales from the Rock
Upon the great pinnacle
standing in the bay
lived an ancient monk up there
who wrote wonderful stories I swear
He traded them for food and supplies
and the villagers were happy
reading them aloud around
an evening fire, in silence they heard
His stories taught lessons on life
and instructed one in the way to live
with humor and clarity to share
and each was treasured with care
A basket on a rope the only connection
to a boat upon the shifting sea
for years without a human voice to sound
scrolls came down and things went upward
The stories painted a delicate picture
of a beautiful, bold, and heroic land
with heroes and heroines who dare
good and evil painted by a hand most fair
One day the stories stopped
and the boatman knew not what to do
for itd sadden the village if the truth were found
and so the boatman began to write and it was hard
Yet the stories were still read around the fire
and the monks wisdom spoken of with delight
and in truth the boatman didnt really care
for the stories made life in the village fair
One day upon the sea the boatman saw a sight
a monk hanging from the basket rope waving
only to see the monk fall with a wild sound
the boatman saved the ancient monk, his ancient bard
Why did you stop writing such great stories
the boatman asked the monk who did but grin
I wanted to hear yours he said with a smile filled with care
I taught you how, now it was you who had stories rare
