One of the most fancied teams in Germany, England will open their FIFA World Cup campaign against Group B rivals Paraguay today -- LIVE NOW on ABC: England v Paraguay
A really good game, tough but sporting.
Wow! What a surprise ending... T&T wasn't expected to win but thanks to a dogged defense despite being a man down due to a red card, they held off Sweden the entire second half. A draw is huge for a small island nation. A summer "Cool Runnings?" No, its not the famous Jamaican bobsled team, but T&T against all expectations, acquitted themselves well today. True, it wasn't a win but it was football played with drama and determination. People will remember this World Cup game.
With the way Sweden was desperately pressing in the last 10 minutes I kept expecting Trinidad to sneak in behind their defense and score.
Switched over to Swedish TV...
They are a bit depressed.
Fiasco. Frustrating. they are saying in the tv studio :-)
LOL T&T improved my humor, no really weak teams on the WCH these days!
Costa Rica scored two off Germany, Ecuador won, Paraguay did respectably against England and now this. Not exactly a stellar start for Europe against the Americas weaker four teams -- and in Europe, no less.
Univision just made it official. Hislop IS player of the game!
I have to give mad props to Dwight Yorke. He is wealthy, old, and could have retired from the national team. He played his heart out today.
Hell, he better be player of the game. I'd be surprised if anyone in the rest of the tournament was able to match the performance he gave today.
I am really looking forward to that game.
Crespo, Riquelme, Saviola.
And Lionel Messi on the bench. I am soo much looking forward to watch him.
Then, Drogba on Ivory Coast. Could be the match of the tournament so far.
It's been a good day today. English victory. Swedish fiasco. Now, we need a cracking display of football to finish the day off with :-)
Yeah... but that Sudan/Zimbabwe game is gonna' be a bloodbath!
They remind me a bit of Cameroon in 1990. They gave England a very tough playoff match that year. That worries me a bit for Thursday.
BTW.
Do you have the link to that England video?
Good point.
Let me fix it:
Almost anybody can kick a soccer ball, but few can hit a good fastball. And even fewer can hit a good breaking ball.
I think it's this one:

Maybe it's hard to hit the fastball due to the 5 minutes of butt scratching between pitches lulling the batter into yawning.
Troll elsewhere.
That rad card on T&T was bullsh!t!!!
oops I meant red card.
thanks. :-)
Excited about the next game. Our first african team, Ivory Coast, with Drogba from Chelsea, and all the Argentinian stars.
Should be fun.
