NEW YORK - Barbra Streisand announced Thursday that she will embark on a national concert tour this fall, her first in over a decade.
Streisand will play 20 concerts in U.S. cities during October and November, her manager, Martin Erlichman, said in a statement. Her last U.S. tour was in 1994.
The 64-year-old singer-actress plans to give "designated proceeds" from the tour to support several causes, including the environment, education and women's health. The money will be distributed through the Streisand Foundation.
"The increasingly urgent need for private citizen support to combat dangerous climate change, along with education and health issues, was the prime reason I decided to tour again," Streisand said in a statement. "This will allow me to direct funds and awareness to causes that I care deeply about."
The tour follows the release of her latest album, "Guilty Pleasures," last September. In 2004, Streisand marked her return to the big screen, co-starring in the Ben Stiller comedy, "Meet the Fockers."
Dates and locations will be announced at a later date.
aw geez! not that $^!^ again!
It's not too hard to sing well, if you've got a built-in echo chamber sitting on your face.
I watched part of "Meet the Fockers". It may be the worst movie ever made. Really just sickening, in large part due to this classless woman.
Ok, so this is the "And This Time I Mean It" Final Tour?
I thought she was dead.
Regards, Ivan
Who's the opening act?
I'm sure she'll make a bundle of money and support all her liberal causes; some things we just have to let go of. We can always hope she flops, but probably not.
How many "last tours" can the broad do?
Semper Fi
I'd like to see the books after the concerts and see how much money REALLY makes it to the named benefactors.
Yawn
LOL!

Hillary in 08, maybe?

It won't be "The Cure." That's for sure.
Y'know, it's sad to contemplate what a career Streisand threw away.
In her youth, she really had a talent for comedy. "The Owl and the Pussycat" and "What's Up, Doc?" are great showcases for her.
Then she decided she'd rather do "serious" movies, and the result was "Yentl." Ugh. She could have been one of the 20th century's most noted comediennes, and instead she's a glorified lounge singer whose appeal is limited to New York and Florida.
Dates and locations will be announced at a later date.
Venues: Sun City, Leisure World, and numerous KOA sites across America.
The first one, "Meet the Parents" was hilarious. One of my all-time favorite comedies.
With Babs in "MTF" I never bothered to see it. She makes me sick.
Yep, just like Ozzy's "No More Tours" tour in '91.
Great concert, BTW.
