Nolan getting Ventura in a headlock and pounding him is a classic. I gotta go find that video online. I'll post a link.

Philadelphia Eagles' fans vs. Santa Claus.

Well, not a beatdown per se, but it is always worth remembering.

Robert Parish against Bill Lambier.

Parish finally had enough of Lambier's act and in the middle of a playoff game put him down with a karate whack in the face. He could have caved his face him if didn't pull the punch. This was done in Boston Garden in front of the ref who swallowed his whistle.

The Auburn-Bama game in 1972. They were winning 16-3 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. In the final minutes of the game we blocked two of their punts and scored twice. We won 17 - 16!

Punt, Bama, Punt!

Best verbal beatdown would be John McEnroe vs. any chair umpire.

"YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!"

Terry O'Reilly (Boston Bruins), and Dave (The Hammer) Schultz (Philadelphia Flyers). Classic stuff.

And how about Terry O'Reilly v. MSG Ranger fans.

Terry really knew how to throw a right cross (and how to bleed).

I once saw Ralph Cox of the University of New Hampshire throw one punch and knock out a Boston College defenseman, break his nose and cover the ice with blood. It was the shortest hockey fight of all time.
