Ping!
Ok Susan, do you want the job by any chance?
Let Nifong pick the prosecutor; if his handpicked choice believes there is no case, or no case against one or more of the defendants Nifong has indicted, then so be it. Nifong should have no reason to complain if his own choice disagrees with him.

Duke to name new lacrosse coach
Duke University president Richard Brodhead is scheduled to hold a press conference today at 2 p.m. to discuss the future of the men's lacrosse program.
As reported Friday by the Long Island, N.Y., newspaper Newsday, Brodhead is expected to announce the revival of the team for next season, with Duke assistant Kevin Cassese serving as interim head coach.
Brodhead will be accompanied at the press conference by Robert Steel, the chairman of Duke's Board of Trustees; Daniel Blue, executive committee member of Duke's Board of Trustees; Duke athletics director Joe Alleva; and Duke Athletic Council chairwoman Kathleen Smith.

All that is needed is a dismissal.
As much as I hate to admit, Susan makes some good points, something she stumbles over occasionally.
Susan may not actually believe Mangum's story, but positions herself as a supporter so she can say the following with credibility, which offers Nifong a graceful exit and dismissal:
"Let Nifong pick the prosecutor; if his handpicked choice believes there is no case, or no case against one or more of the defendants Nifong has indicted, then so be it. Nifong should have no reason to complain if his own choice disagrees with him."
Nifong clearly bit off more than he can chew in his zeal to get elected. Mangum lied to him, and he foolishly chose to believe her without further investigation. His ego won't allow him to do it, but he should consider Susan's advice. Of course, we all know the defense is shaking in their boots to go up against him - Nifong even said so - so he won't give Susan's idea the time of day.
