STUDIOS love magazine stories that breathlessly hype their summer popcorn movies, so you would think that Warner Bros. might have been happy with Alonso Duralde's cover story about "Superman Returns," which gushed, "Superheroes let's face it are totally hot."
There was a twist: Duralde's "Superman Returns" story was not in Entertainment Weekly or Newsweek or Premiere. It ran in the May 23 issue of the Advocate, the prominent national gay magazine, next to the headline: "How Gay Is Superman?"
Man of Steel has been missing from the movies for 19 years, and now that he's scheduled to fly into the multiplex on June 28, his worries may not be limited to Lex Luthor and kryptonite. Even at a time when moviegoers and awards organizations embraced the overtly gay love story "Brokeback Mountain," there may be a different challenge for a mainstream action movie that happens to be attracting a gay following.

After this film was cast rumours on the net were that the star would come out the closet in the publicity run-up to the opening. I thought I'd wait to see if it was true. Now it doesn't matter if he does, no way I'm seeing this turkey.
Apparently the film is to be subtitled "Man of Steel Comes Back." Must be those tights.
That's why the audience boos when Lois Lane comes on camera.
a fine retort.
The gay crowd gets different movie posters and different trailers - like trailers featuring Superman coming out of a closet - literally. The studios act like gay men are the holy grail of box office and will pretty much turn anything into its gayest possible demoninator to appeal to them. Its not like the studio (who have gay guys coming out of their @ss literally) are doing this for the money because it isn't increasing box office. Brokeback mountain did pretty well but it also benefitted from a huge political campaign the size of the one backing Michael Moores P.O.S. which cost about as much as the entire rake. Its not like there is going to be overseas revenue or DVD sales and rentals on these gay movies since there aren't even gay guys out there to make anything a success unless they all decided together to see the same movie (which Spike Lee tried with black people and it didn't work for Malcolm X or Ali).
yeah, the gayest looking dude in News. And 60 Minutes can't wait to get him in bed with all those 70 year olds over at CBS.
The whole 'gayification' thing didn't start happening until the 80's after they somehow determined that if NY was ready for Studio 54 (which was basically a larger version of a typical gay club) then they could turn the rest of America gay. They tried to claim that Scooby Doo was gay, HR Puffinstuff, Batman, etc. They also claimed that every famous explorer, inventor, author and actor was gay. The psychs do the same thing by claiming that every famous figure in history was 'mentally ill' and therefore we are all somehow mentally ill (which is basically the same argument as saying we are all gay).
Only in the Ultimate line of Marvel comics, in the Ultimate X-Men series.
That's pretty much my only turn-off from that comic line (which is a shame, as the Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, and Ultimate Fantastic Four are the only things from Marvel that interest me anymore). I mean, in the original Marvel comics, Colossus was in love with Kitty Pryde. What's wrong with keeping him as a heterosexual?
There already are Gay Superheroes, their names are Ace and Gary - The Ambiguously Gay Duo.
Did any of you read the article? The only thing I can see where the studio is trying to portray Superman as a homosexual (not from websites, blogs, or magazines) is how WB bought advertising time on Logo...and even that's stretching it a bit.
This is just a case of homosexuals trying to taint one of America's icons. I don't think the people in the studio would have Superman be a homosexual if they knew what was good for them.
Ya know, this "LA Slimes" and NY Slimes" is really starting to bother me.
It gives slime a bad rep.
What role does Alfred play?
Did you check out Rush on JTS? It is hilarious.

I think they were hoping for a Clark Kent that the lisping crowd would drool over.
When you saw the three thousand commercials on TV for brokeback mountain, did you see any scenes in it which looked gay if you hadn't already known that it was about gay guys pretending to be cowboys?? Not a chance since the strategy was to trick the public into thinking this was a western. But on the gay media and throughout the gay activity networks it was as organized a campaign as the DNC and moron.org hosting viewing parties for Michael Moore films. There is absolutely no ambiguity about the agenda. But they can't come out and tell people what they are doing.
