WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

Hi everyone.

All literature is a subset of Science Fiction.
No. Science Fiction writers are definitely not a dying breed. However, Sturgeon's Law applies.

Sturgeon's Law--isn't that the one that says that 90% of everything is crap?

""Hi Tulip! The reading and writing society is having a meeting.""
And so are the ones with real talent.

I have it available. I was debating buying it. Hannity says it's quite intellectual. (Like he would know.)
I've read it twice (some sections three or four times). In typical Coulter fashion, she says things that make people uncomfortable. If I were to give a brief synopsis of the book, I'd say that Ann categorizes American liberalism as a religion (as the subtitle, "The Church of Liberalism" would suggest). She lists the tenets of the "religion," their war on the unborn, freedom in education, science, and the like. Her attacks on the "Darwiniacs" makes Godless stand out from the rest.
The book is about as intellectual as "Treason"--which coming from Sean Hannity, makes it sound like a treatise on seventeenth-century English common law. Of course, all of this whilst he is arguing on behalf of "ordinary Americans" against the "intellectual elite."
Overall, Godless is quite good. Not a blockbuster, mind you, but in the line of "Slander" and "Treason." There are many points that we could go over.

Hi sexy tax babe! "Sexy" and "tax" don't exactly go together. LOL!
Hi Stephen. How are you doing?
To: NicknamedBob
Unless your talking about The Journal of the American Taxation Association or The Accounting Review, I probably haven't read it. LOL!

I am working all weekend, but if I don't read it, Das will hang me by my left one : )
Read it when you can, and then we'll discuss it. There is a lot of material in the book--it will make for good discussions, I assure you.

Unless there's a sexy tax. There isn't a sexy tax, is there? I know some legislators around here were trying to impose additional taxes on strip clubs. Does that count?

Okay, I'll have to read it then. I enjoyed the book "Treason," so I guess I'll be all right with "Godless."
I had reservations about subjecting myself to a diatribe against evolution. Evolution doesn't explain the beginning of life, but it shouldn't be trashed for the wrong reasons, like the fact that Liberals think highly of it.

I suppose it all depends on perspective. I don't find strip clubs "sexy."
