You are right. I do recall the british monarchs having all kinds of extramaritals and out-of-wedlock births.
I do wonder this: this girl is a waitress. I didn't think Albert would take up with "commoners". LOL
Well, the mother of William the Conqueror [aka William the Bastard] was a commoner, a tanner's daughter Arlette. And his father was married at the time, and not to her, either. It was not restricted to Britain, [or Normandy].
LOL, indeed. But he has his mother's 'grace' (no pun intended) and sensibility, or so they say. I'm younger than the Prince, but old enough to remember how we used to see him all over the news when he or his sisters would visit the US and my friends and I would 'dream' of meeting him (he had attended a college in New England) and we wondered if he would 'notice' us, because afterall, Diana, a commoner, had married her prince. LOL, it seems kind of funny now.
And I guess 'commoners' do have a chance at meeting him. He seems to have a 'thing' for the commoners. This isn't his first illegitimate child, he acknowledged paternity of a son a couple years ago.
Prince Albert to acknowledge toddler son after affair made public
I can't find a photo at the moment, but at the time I saw photos of the woman and the little boy. She's quite lovely and the boy does indeed bear a resemblance. And it was a long affair, no one-niter.
Well, the royals need to slip in a commoner every now and then, otherwise they become too inbred!
