Prayer Vigil For the Immigration Crisis
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. 1 Timothy 2: 1-2, RSV
Dear FRiends, I invite you to join us in a 24 hour a day prayer vigil to ask God's help and protection and guidance on the immigration issue before Congress.
Let us place our country's needs before our Father's throne of grace that the right actions will be taken to protect our country and keep it safe.
We are asking for people to be willing to pray for at least 1/2 hours blocks. I will organize this on a 7 day schedule, to continue to rotate until the crisis is resolved. If you can, please consider pledging at the same time each day, but if you can't let me know your schedule. It will go on until this issue is settled.
If you want to pledge, let me know your time choices, and let me know your time zone!
And what about the people in Mexico praying that their family members can get here and find work? Whose prayers will win, I wonder...
![]() A Poem for Our NationGoing Astray in the U.S.A.Many things in this old worldAre so corrupt today With prisons overflowing And children gone astray. The word of God is quite taboo It brings our country shame To seek Him in a public place One dare not speak His name. He won't be found in classrooms It would be found, a sin To let our small ones gather round And offer praise to Him. They've taken God from every book And from our government The laws that made our country strong Are crooked, vile and bent. I only pray, it's not too late To turn it all around Etch the Bible in the hearts Of everyone in town. For if we wait and carry on And go about our way God will finally shout "enough" The trumpet then will play. We will not find sweet mercy When we look to Him for grace We will not see contentment When we gaze upon His face. We'll know His wrath and fury With our backs against the wall He'll say, "I never knew you. The curtain then will fall. Author/Written By: Marilyn Ferguson

HA. Aren't they?
Midday prayer ping:
O Father God, protect our nation.
Give our leaders the wisdom to make wise decisions, according to your will.
Where there is the need for repentance, may You open the eyes and hearts of those concerned.
Help us, Lord, at this delicate time in our history where so much anger flares around a complex issue which is becoming more than a reality, but a symbol for sides to be drawn on.
Look not on the sins of our people, but on the faith and love of those who follow you, and help us to be the light you would have us be.
In the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
Amen, and Amen!
I heard T. D. Jakes preach on TV one time that God is not fair; God is Just!
You should have heard T. D. Jakes powerful sermon on the subject. It was a very powerful sermon.
Yes, there is a true difference between "fair" and just. But we are also lucky that God is merciful, too! And he has compassion on us as well.
Beautiful and timely.
Ditto.
AGREED and AMEN.
BTW, I pray when I can, often throughout the day. Thanks so much for this thread!
Lyman
And we are glad you are doing it!
Evening Prayer Ping:
God help our country to be strong,
Gainst all the battle-hosts of wrong;
In all we pledge or think or do
God help our country to be true.
God hold our nations aim sincere,
God save her heart from coward fear,
God prosper her with true success,
And crown her head with worthiness.
From foe without and foe within,
From open shame and hidden sin,
From boastful pride and greedy store,
God keep our nation evermore!
Amos R. Wells

and Amen.
Amem and amen!!!!
Morning Prayer vigil Ping!
Oer the trackless ocean guided
By Thy hand our fathers came;
They, O Lord, in Thee confided,
Loved Thy day, revered Thy Name;
Nor would we, their faith despising,
False to their devotion be,
But, on wings of prayr arising,
Lift our contrite hearts to Thee.
In the new land, wild and lonely,
Rude the homes which they upraised;
There they sought unto Thee only,
There Thy love and mercy praise;
In our fairer habitations,
May their zeal in us increase,
While Thy gracious consolations
Prove our everlasting peace.
Destined for their fathers places,
Age on until the end,
Keep, O keep, our childrens faces
Turned to Thee, our changeless Friend;
And may all who boon of Heaven
Now or evermore shall crave,
Know on earth Thy blessing given,
Glory find beyond the grave.
William H. Adams
Lord, be with our nation, our leaders, our people.
Grant our leaders the wisdom to make the right decisions regarding our country's safety and prosperity.
Lead us into your light.
In the name of Jesus, this I pray, Amen.
Good morning "bump".
Afternoon Prayer Ping!
Christ, by heavnly hosts adored,
Gracious, mighty, sovereign Lord,
God of nations, King of kings,
Head of all created things,
By the Church with joy confessed,
God oer all, forever blessed.
Pleading at Thy throne we stand,
Save Thy people, bless our land.
On our fields of grass and grain
Send, O Lord, the kindly rain;
Oer our wide and goodly land
Crown the labors of each hand.
Let Thy kind protection be
Oer our commerce on the sea.
Open, Lord, Thy bounteous hand;
Bless Thy people, bless our land.
Let our rulers ever be
Men that love and honor Thee;
Let the powers by Thee ordained
Be in righteousness maintained.
In the peoples hearts increase
Love of piety and peace.
Thus united, may we stand
One wide, free, and happy land.
Henry Harbaugh
O Lord,
Be with us now.
Teach us to walk in your light
Guide our people in the way we should go,
raise up leaders who will answer your call
Amen.
"Let our rulers ever be
Men that love and honor Thee;
Let the powers by Thee ordained
Be in righteousness maintained."
Ditto.
and Amen.

What a sweet prayer. We can all count our blessings and we need to count them daily. Yes, I agree we should pray daily for this nation and its leaders. My prayers are more intermittant each day and not at a specific time.
