That's because it is!
Ya know, I think they should change the name of that movie
to "Doctors in Black".
Taken? Oh, you mean.... well I was never taken but my dog was once, picked up in our yard and deposited 15 miles away,
My ex was across town to do some petsitting and he was on
the porch waiting for her...OoOoOoOo.
Scientists tried to debunk this by telling us that is
why dogs pee on cartires, it leaves a dotted scent line for
them to follow home, but I for one discount that.
Try zooming in...
Hoosiers are the best thats why! :)
We're so far backward, we're ahead of most folks. Those are images taken from airplanes. They don't show up in the huge picture because they were taken at low altitude, but just zoom in and they are higher res than anything other than the special big city images google earth uses.
Why would anyone (other than police) want high-res pictures of Detroit?
That's so the A10s can find the mosques we it's time to do so.
I have done so many times. Look at the border between northern IN and southern MI. You can see the cars in Gary, IN. Can barely see streets in St. Joe, MI.
Boycott Google! Google is doing evil!

Here's the Indianapolis Speedway thanks to Windows Live Virtual Earth!

And here is a photograph of my house in Stockton, California, from an eye altitude of 1048 feet... its not nearly so old... or so blurry...
You can see the obvious resolution differences... the Indiana photo is far less resolved and detailed.
Since you suggested Michigan, here is a picture of the port at Mackinac Island, Michigan, (about 5 miles from the bridge that connects the Southern Penninsula to the Northern Penninsula from about 1163 feet....
Obviously, the various areas are sat-photographed at various resolution... but Indiana is the only state that the Rez changes with its borders... wierd.
Oh, and Missouri changes at its borders as well...
Check out the comparable zoomed in pictures in post 33.
That IS wierd... Again, the change is consistent with the borders...
Poseyville, Indiana at 450 Feet.

I'm assuming that some states have paid for the photo surveys. Mass is also at a fairly high resolution while most states are low res with only major cities being high res. I keep hoping that Michigan will go high res but so far no luck.
I can get GIS maps of my county that are high res like that but so far google just has us as a green blur.
