humm, I am using a CD-RW disk, but I do have some CD-Rs also, is that what I need to use?

Theoretically, it shouldn't make a difference.

Though personally, I'd use an RW to make sure the thing burns. After it burns and the stuff shows up, then I'd burn it to an R.

That way, if the RW gets fudged, you can still erase it and try again.

For data backup, like your QuickBooks files, it shouldn't matter if you use a CD-RW or CD-R disk. My uncle has used CD-RW's without a problem. CD-R's are "write once", CD-RW's can have the data on them wiped clean, and written over multiple times.

CDRs play in most players nowadays and in fact a lot of players will now play MP3 files both my stereos do.
