Initially, of course, it will be easier to use the Flying Castle as a base while we explore the asteroids.
We might choose to outfit one of the asteroids as an outer object explorer. Currently, we'll need one with a good concentration of Uranium, so we can tap the power.

Heck, even 'modern' cartoons like "Tazmania", "Freakazoid", "Terrible Thunder Lizards", "Eek the Cat", and "Animaniacs" were pretty good.
Geared towards adults sitting at home with kids, but pretty good.
