If he has somewhat short legs like a cat I once had, you could consider Low Rider. :)

Our cat is named Cheney, also! I get a lot of compliments on his name. He's gray, as well, but I just named him Cheney because I love our VP.

You have good taste!

I never tell our cat that he is named for the VP; he thinks the VP is named for him.

Be functional, and name him "Cat".

Or "Dammit".

That'd be great. I name my cats after great military leaders. I had a great calico I named Charlamagne, but since it was obviously a "she", she went by "Charla."

I guess I could have called my first cat "Hanna", but she went by her full name, "Hannibal."

Whatever works. ;-)

And he can hang around with his canine buddy, "Downboy!"

We name your cats after characters in science fiction.

One cat was named Tribbles. He wuold actually make that tribble sound once and a while. After we had to put him down (cancer), we got two litter mates six months later.
A boy and a girl, Zack and Lyta (Babylon 5)

For your cutie, try Zathras! He was quite the character!

Well, I've always considered naming your cat to be kind of like naming your table. Neither one will come when you call it. That being said, I think he looks like a 'Gabriel', or 'Gabe' for short. If you're a serious Freeper, call him 'Viking' and be done with it.

"My cats are currently named Miss Perfect and The Resident Terrorist"

How coincidental! That is how my Wife refers to herself, and the name I call her.[sarc]
