White House Trying to Kill House Immigration Bill--Sensenbrenner
Chris Core Show, WMAL 630 AM radio (ABC's Washington DC affiliate)

Posted on 05/24/2006 7:57:37 AM PDT by Fairview

James Sensenbrenner just called in to Chris Core's conservative radio talk show to report that Karl Rove, acting for the president, was actively trying to sabotage the House immigration bill by persuading other congressmen not to support it.

This is big news. Sensenbrenner has let the cat out of the bag and I suspect what Rove is attempting is not going to play well with the House leadership.

Personally I hope Rove gets his fingers smacked by the mousetrap.

I have never seen a POTUS so adept at shooting himself in the foot over and over. He's gonna run out of toes soon.

It smacks of political desperation.

It's bound to backfire on Rove now that Sensenbreneer made it public.

Remember a few years ago when Karl Rove warned Tom Tancredo never to darken the doorway to the White House again because of Tom's anti-illegal stance? Bush and Rove are very pro-illegal alien, almost, pro-Mexico in their stance.

But Bush is in a catch-22. The House, hoepfully, will not back down. The GOP stays in control. If the house caves, a lot of GOP congressmen will lose their seats for being pro-illegal. If the house is lost and the Dems get control, they will push for impeachment. So bush has to face political realities. Either he doesn't get his way on immigration or he may have to face the prospects of a Dem controlled House. Sadly, it's the Senate where the spinelss ones grow.

If Bush had any smarts about him he would quit putting the House under this type of pressure. You're correct, if the dems win they'll impeach him and the country will lose twice, first from the amnesty then the charade of two years of political turmoil.

I just seem a woman on fox that said she heard out of the House yesterday that they stand between the Kennedy Shamnesty plan and the people and that they will wait until after the election and see what the people say.

That's the best we're going to see at this point, no bill at all.

It is scary how many Clintonian things are going on.

Excellent thought, thanks for the suggestion.

St. Kristinn the Good, Hero of all Right-Thinking Conservatives, Bravest and Most Humorous of All, thank you for providing that transcript of Chris Core's show and substantiating my post. I was afraid I was being very forward in posting something I'd just heard but you gave it credibility.

You did.

Kerry and Algore would have given the illegals government jobs with your taxdollars to ferry more of them across the border in Government Buses.

Its a great Country isn't it.

Elected officals TOTALLY ignoring their Constituents AND THE LAW on an issue of major significance.

What;s the difference bewteen a dictatorship and a Democracy without referendum and recall?

He doesn;t CARE.

History might remember him as one of our worst Presidnets but it won't boehter him. He and his corporate buddies are doing too well on oil dollars and cheap peon labor to care.

I don't think he cares.

Remember his Dad?

He ran one of most pathetic campaigns in hsitory the Second Time around. I think the Bushes have short attention spans or something.

Viva!! Viva El Presidente De Los Ustados Unidos del Norte!!!

What a disgrace.
