The Duke women's lacrosse team retains strong ties to the men's team currently embroiled in rape allegations.
The women plan to wear sweatbands that say "innocent" when they play Northwestern in the Final Four on Friday in Boston, The Durham Herald-Sun reported Wednesday.
"Obviously we want to win a national championship for ourselves, but definitely also for the university and the men's team," junior Leigh Jester told the paper. "They don't really have a chance to play their season, which is a shame.
"We'd love to bring it home not only for ourselves, but also for them."

What'll you bet the university somehow finds this "inapprpriate" and forbids it?
I think the stripper and her criminal boyfriend just wanted to scam money from the team, but the situation got spun out of control by a power hungry DA who wanted to seal up the black vote. He won at the expense of three innocent (and wealthy) white boys. The race baiting opportunity was Satan's gift to him.
The DA is a democrat. The end justifies the means.
That's a pretty ballsy move for a bunch of chicks. Good for them.
Probably. If the stripper can't get any money from the boys, she'll go for the civil suit and try to scam millions from the big kahuna. Her civil lawyers will go after the University, because that's where the big money is.
Here is the roster of the Duke women's lacrosse team:

Totally perfect summation.
Total hottie, member of the mathematics National Honor Society, and has a brother on the Duke men's lacrosse team.
You go girls!
Interesting article.

I agree!
If Duke doesn't the NCAA might. The Women's Lacrosse team should have kept quite & just done it. Also, I'm wondering if by 'sweatbands' they mean 'headbands'? Since lacrosse players wear helmets with face cages, I'm wondering who will see them? Players standing on the sideline would likely be without headgear, but TV will probably not show that.
They certainly show up the faculty - 88 of whom came out immediately to claim the boys guilty.
The liberal faculty would support Stalin over his victims, too. Sad, isn't it?
Two kids at Duke, one at Penn, and one at Johns Hopkins, which the Duke web site misspelled. That's pretty impressive.
I hate Myles Brand!
Bravo girls! Good luck on the game.
The women don't wear the helmets since it's a non contact sport for women. Kind of like no checking hockey.
Thanks for the correction. As Gilda Radner used to say on SNL, "Never Mind!"
