Below is a list of worst beers in the world as rated by the thousands of beer enthusiasts at RateBeer.com. Dare to try them? We don't advise it. We provide this list in the name of beer education. We aren't picking on the fat kid as much as we're making a few big brewers accountable for their products that are more about beer hype and marketing than substance. That would be me. I feel oddly repulsed from and drawn to it at the same time.
I remember it well.
When we would get a rare stand-down in 'Nam, we would sometimes get a pallet of beer out of Danang.
It was invariably Carling Black Label.
The orange on the cans was rust by the time we got 'em.
Nastiest crap I ever drank.
'Course, the fact they were hot may have contributed to the taste, but they were so bad, that after I returned to the world, that jingle, "Hey Mable, Black Label; Carling Black Label Beer!", would make my stomach lurch.
We once caught some fish out of one of the little waterways and boiled the fish in a steel pot with the beer.
Maggots gagged.
Buzzards burped.
Terrible stuff.
Was that the beer with the fat naked lady on the can?
That was non-alcohol I believe!!!
Drank many a Hamms with ice in nam. Firing down before the ice melted was a treat. Has anyone mentioned Billy Beer? Still have some empty cans stashed somewhere. Fitting can art would have been ole Billy peeing on some alleyway wall. :-)
Are you talking about the "Pale Stale Ale" that is so light, the foam is on the bottom?
That and my father saying:
"Mabel - get off the table. -- The two-bits is for beer."
We had to drink it out of the bottles. Once we tried drinking it out of glasses, but it smelled so bad that we just couldn't.

I used to refer to the after effect as the next day Genessee Rocket (explitive for poop).
Seemed like that follow on in the morning was a toilet filler. I don't know today's low use of water can take a hard night of Genny.
See #58--one of the cans.
That's the one!

They sell cheap stuff that frat boys and hobos can get drunk off of.
"the decision was made that the extra expense of installing gas-fired kettles at all the Miller plants simply was not justifiable. An old marketing postion long enjoyed by Stroh alone was abandoned in favor of being able to offer the brand to the public at reduced cost."
What spin. In beer-talk, reduced cost is called "popular-priced." In the real world, it's called "cheap."
Pabst did the same thing with Old Style. Used to be "krausend," putting a little new beer into a almost totally fermented batch of OS. It scrubs the beer a bit and adds some carbonation. Miller skips this process and has also made OS a cheap beer.
Pabst has no breweries. It's nothing more than a business that contracts out their beers, a "virtual" brewer.
Mmmmm...Hacker-Pschorr. One of my favorites along with Spaten and my all-time best beer from central Germany, Licher.
My all time worst would probably be Grolsch. Took one taste and knew instantly that it would be the last.
Hahah man, I know theres some rolling rock fans out there... but Ive never seen them completely consumed in any gathering.
