BOOB BRIT'S BABY BOBBLE
N Y Post ^ | May 19, 2006 | TODD VENEZIA

Posted on 05/19/2006 8:37:01 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

Britney Spears' child-care techniques seem to be growing positively "Toxic" - she nearly dropped her 8-month-old son on his head yesterday as she tottered out of a posh Manhattan hotel with a glass in one hand and the tyke in another. The baby-bobbling bungle began at about 6 p.m., as the "Not That Innocent" pop tart left the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Central Park South, holding her kid, Sean Preston, and what witnesses said was a tumbler of water and ice (photo, far left).

While heading to a car, her long pants appeared to get tangled in her open-toed shoes (inset, far left) just as she stepped past a pothole, witnesses said.

Then - oops! - Britney started to tumble. Sean Preston's head whipped back in what a witness called a "violent manner," his chubby arm swung up and his little hat went flying off .

"Her bodyguard had some good reactions," an onlooker said of the quick catch . "[He] grabbed the baby before he hit the floor."

Despite the tumble, Britney managed not to spill a drop of her drink. Then she muttered to fotogs in her Louisiana accent, "This is why I need a gun."

The incident left her clearly shaken up - afterwards she was seen in tears at FAO Schwarz (right inset).

She's not the first mom to nearly trip and fall while holding her child. I fell down the stairs while holding my baby. $..t happens.

Is there anyone who hasn't had trouble holding onto a baby, and that without paparazzi distracting you?

Try using a sling so you can carry your glass comfortably.

Nope. When the kids were really small we carried them around in one of those detachable car seat things.

While carrying my 19month old daughter to put her to bed the other night, I went to walk through a doorway and just has we get to the door she decides she wants to swing her head back and BAM! she gets clocked by the door jamb.

Was I a bad parent for not putting a helmet on her head?

Ditto. The media are chasing her in her car, down the street, strolling through a store etc. They are largely responsible for her erratic actions trying to avoid them. They are ruthless, viscious sharks and should leave the girl the hell alone. Every new parent, myself included, has made rookie mistakes when raising kids. They killed Princess Di with their vile behavior.

Poor kid.

I just with the media would do Britney AND us a favor by leaving her the hell alone. People aren't perfect, and they make mistakes.

Give it a rest, you jackals.

My exact thoughts. I'm not a Britney fan by any stretch of the imagination, but this is just getting completely ridiculous.

The way I heard it, she was wearing really baggy pants that got caught on her really high heels and that was what tripped her up.

My mom never dressed like that and she never dropped me.

Have you noticed the number of toddlers walking around with foam helmets on, like boxers or hockey players?

Oh my Gosh! I have never seen that picture before. She really is a redneck! I feel bad that she gets caught all the time but she knows she's gonna get followed every time she goes out. She should have some help with the baby when she goes out, especially if she doesn't want to drop her vodka & tonic! I have to wonder if she really WANTS this kind of exposure...keep her in the news etc.

"its not their fault she dresses that way..."

True enough. It is a sad situation when a rich (and pregnant) star has nothing to wear but too-small undershirts, running shorts and flip-flops. Maybe she feels that if she puts some decent clothes on it will be granting a victory to the photogs.

Why are these celebs always carrying babies around? Don't they believe in the greatest invention "The Dam Baby Carriage"? Her arms are always full with food or drink like she is some kind of sickly person who constantly needs food and drink in her hand every minute!

For Pete's sake, don't give her a gun! She gets in enough trouble without one!
