It seems clear now the whole case will hinge on the credibility of the accuser. What I fear is that the woman who testifies won't be anything like the woman who gave her statement to police on March 16.
Ever since I read that Nifong had plaeed the accuser in a "safe location", I've worried about what that might mean. Has his wife, the victim advocate, taken her in hand. Is she hard at work "rehabilitatng" the accuser's appearance, speech, "attitude", substance abuse problem, parenting skills, etc.
Will the woman who finally takes the stand bear any resemblance to the original complainant? With so much of Nifong's reputation riding on his belief in her and her story, he and his wife have every motivation to provide her with special attention/treatment not available to other rape victims in Durham. If they've done so, I hope that becomes known.
You're correct, I'm sure, that Nifong is going to try and rehabilitate this false accuser who seems to make it her life's ambition to accuse people of things they didn't do.
Thankfully, she's on record and the defense should have a relatively easy time taking her apart on the stand. That being said, however, I fear the location will impinge on the players getting a fair trial in Durham.
They will try to clean her up, just like the lovely Kimmy, but the AV's story still won't hold up without evidence.

It has to. Her word is the only "evidence" that a rape even took place. If you can't believe her, then there was no crime.
Don't worry about the rehabilitation.
You can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think.
