DURHAM, N.C.—One of three Duke University lacrosse players charged with rape wants the case resolved in time for the next school year, his lawyer said in court yesterday. But the judge warned he will not fast-track the proceedings.
The case "is not going to jump ahead of the line and be handled any differently," Superior Court Judge Ronald L. Stephens said at a hearing for sophomore Reade Seligmann.
After the brief hearing, District Attorney Mike Nifong said he does not expect any trial to begin before next year.

i went to the foxxy a few days ago to see what my co workers were talking about. And then their it was. As I look i see a sight that ied though ied never see at a TNA bar but now ive seen it all. So if their are any men out there that are into seeing a woman about 6 mon.pregnant on stage striping go there but to all other men that find this nasty and in some way immoral i am with you there. i think ill find another place to go till she has her baby becouse i dont want to be there if she has that baby on stage. i wonder if the owner knows about this, if so i have to say he most not care or he most just be a sick person.

It seems clear now the whole case will hinge on the credibility of the accuser. What I fear is that the woman who testifies won't be anything like the woman who gave her statement to police on March 16.
Ever since I read that Nifong had plaeed the accuser in a "safe location", I've worried about what that might mean. Has his wife, the victim advocate, taken her in hand. Is she hard at work "rehabilitatng" the accuser's appearance, speech, "attitude", substance abuse problem, parenting skills, etc.
Will the woman who finally takes the stand bear any resemblance to the original complainant? With so much of Nifong's reputation riding on his belief in her and her story, he and his wife have every motivation to provide her with special attention/treatment not available to other rape victims in Durham. If they've done so, I hope that becomes known.
This club needs a good scrubbing. The place smelled like mold. the girls are ok with the exception of one who has the worst atitude and even some of the girls said it was true. Also who is the New girls name with the pretty brown hair? She was in V2?
This case has been the best free PR for strip clubs in NC. Offering limitless employment opportunities for females.. and their lawyers, no doubts.
You're correct, I'm sure, that Nifong is going to try and rehabilitate this false accuser who seems to make it her life's ambition to accuse people of things they didn't do.
Thankfully, she's on record and the defense should have a relatively easy time taking her apart on the stand. That being said, however, I fear the location will impinge on the players getting a fair trial in Durham.

Tracfone themselves may not keep call logs, but the carrier(s) who handled the calls (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T/Cingular, Alltel, et. sure as heck kept call detail reports.
The accuser isn't likely the one who would have cancelled the service on the phone, but the owner of the phone, probably during the period between leaving the Buchananon house and showing up at the hospital. Most likely it was the escort service that cancelled the phone service, to protect their "Johns" and their hookers. Oh, sorry -- their "exotic dancers".
Thanks for pinging this recap. I happened to catch the cousin of the AV last night on one of the news shows. She seems to be milking her sudden stardom for all it is worth.
They will try to clean her up, just like the lovely Kimmy, but the AV's story still won't hold up without evidence.

Yeah right....It's not because the judge on Thursday told the DA in the other noise violation case, that he was wasting his time.....
And under case law a city can take your property for no real public use. How far we've strayed...
