DURHAM, N.C.—One of three Duke University lacrosse players charged with rape wants the case resolved in time for the next school year, his lawyer said in court yesterday. But the judge warned he will not fast-track the proceedings.
The case "is not going to jump ahead of the line and be handled any differently," Superior Court Judge Ronald L. Stephens said at a hearing for sophomore Reade Seligmann.
After the brief hearing, District Attorney Mike Nifong said he does not expect any trial to begin before next year.

Hospitals don't give out that kind of information to the media, so it had to be another source. That leaves Mangum herself, Nifong, the cops, or someone close to Mangum.
I don't know NC crim procedure so I can't say for sure, but probably. But it wouldn't suprise me if they didn't. I've been in shock for a month over the fact that there's no probable cause hearing process available.
Perhaps 'Nifonged' could be the prosecutorial equivalent of being 'Geragused.' See State of CA v. Scott Peterson. ;-)

I remember discussing this when we were talking about items removed from 610. Remember the rugs? Maybe this is where Nifong got his date rape drug info, but I would assume defense attys have the results of any test done on the rugs as well.
Another leak source might just be a Rape Crisis Center. ("3. Discuss ways SANE can utilize RCC in the care of the assault victim.) And at that site what heck is a "victim witness worker??? ("1. Discuss the role of the victim witness worker").
I don't know if CGM received any form of counseling at the hospital; bottom dollar -- she did.
Of course, at that site, the pages I *really* want to examine are "not available".
If the nurse or doctor examining her noticed tracks and noted the observation in the report, it would go to the defense during discovery, yes. If she uses a needle regularly, there're probably noted observations about the puncture/track marks in her regular medical files and would certainly be information about drug use and observations relating to it in the medical records surrounding her hospitalization for mental health problems last year.

I dunno about that.. Nifong's been tricky from the get-go. But perhaps Defense does have that data and are requesting additional data from any "possible" tox/urine screening done at the time of the SANE Exam.
In either case, do you think Nifong wouldn't be dropping "the rug" attack via his buddies at the MSM. Maybe he's saving that for a slow news cycle?
My own hunch is the MSM knows far more than they are letting the public know.
It wouldn't matter what the SANE nurse thought. Mangum had to give consent for those tests. No tests were done. So, the question is did the SANE nurse decide they weren't needed because she was fine, or were they not done because Mangum refused to consent to them? If Mangum was behaving as she had been earlier, the latter is more likely.
Which brings me back to the "spilled drink" on the floor -- as a possible grounds for Nifong's "hypothetical" that a drug was "used" on CGM.
I'm going to have to go back and reread the article wherein Defense says it got an incomplete bundle of data from Nifong's office. Are the results of the "rug" testing not there? Is that what this is about?

That would include a phone camera. I don't know if it was a phone, but that was the understanding early on.
None done. That was Mangum's whole point in crying rape - to get out of a drunk in public arrest. The last thing she would do at that point is consent ot a drug test.
So, as i said, if the SANE nurse thought she had been drugged or was under the influence of drugs, she should have suggested a tox screen. If she did, Mangum declined it. If she didn't, then whatever she was on before and during the lax party had worn off sufficiently by the time of the exam.
When did NiFong learn it was Crystal and Duke Boys he was dealing with?? Did he know before the Police Chief because as we know, the Police Chief has disappeared!!
But you are making the mistake of thinking the Mangum's behavior arriving continued with the SANE. I am sure when it was in her best interet she toned down her hysterics so that she could refuses the tox screen.
The presence of drugs would probably not be there, but there might be coloring agents in the liquor stained into the carpet that would show up. They need to depose Kim and ask her where in the house exactly the drink was spilled so they can test the carpet. i don't think there was a drink or a drug administered in connection to the house except perhaps by Kim in the form of a drink given to Mangum in the bathroom, the purpose being to rob Mangum later. I think Kim staged/provoked the argument with the boys so they would have an excuse to leave before Mangum's ride came back for her because she would have time to take Mangum away, rob her and dump her before Mangum's ride arrived.
I never heard there was any rug testing.
Why did Kim and Crystal leave the house at different times? AND what is the time difference? If the "rape time" was approximately 30 minutes like they say, are you telling me that Kim was in the car for 30 minutes and never made a phone call to the Escort Service or someone?
