Leaders of the American Baptist Churches of the Pacific Southwest have left the denomination, primarily over its handling of homosexuality."Don't let the door hit ya where homosexuality split ya."

Okay... I'm confused. Where does the Southern Baptist Convention come into all this? What is their stand?

Not this American Baptist. Nor his church.

If I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like the ABCPSW got it right.

"God's heart is broken when sisters and brothers in Christ divide over matters of scriptural interpretation...." But more so, when brothers and sisters disregard the clear instruction of scripture and "reinterpret" it to condone perversion.

Probably the same people who think "God's doing a new thing!"
He isn't, and the Word has not changed. Homosexuality is still an abomination to God.

Just another instance of the Evil One infiltrating the Churches and nudging them to accept society's sicknesses as normal and good, instead of teaching the principles of the Bible and letting folks decide if they want to try to live according to God's Will.
The Bible tells us that, as we approach the End Times, good will be called evil and evil will be called good. It also prophesies that the Church will become largely apostate.
It would appear that the last 50 years have moved us a long ways toward Biblical prophesy...

True Baptists believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Bible. The Bible is clear about homosexuality, in both Old and New Testaments. Ergo... the "Baptist" faction which is pro-gay is not truly Baptist.
To: NYer
I guess all those Christians who support homosexuality ripped certain chapters of their Bibles out.
