The double standard of the anti-Christian elites is once again apparent to any who are willing to open their eyes to it. Even though I am not a Catholic, the double standard between the way this movie is being previewed, and the way The Passion of the Christ was previewed is just so obvious. Christianity really is the last acceptable thing to be bigoted against in the US.

No smoker's where you come from? People who drive SUV's also come to mind, except oddly it is usually SUV itself that draws most of the hatred.

"But that it will be a box-office smash, that it is the subject of lavish praise in the press, that it is the best-selling novel of the 21st century, tells us we live not just in a post-Christian era, but in an anti-Catholic culture not worth defending or saving, for it is truly satanic."Sure Pat.."box-office smash"...is that why they have delayed it's release? Maybe they're just trying to build more hype because it's an evil satanic dog of a movie.
But folks will probably go see it anyway even though they know the whole sordid tale by now.

In the end, the hoax is revealed, for, of course, the proof cannot be found. It is okay with me if the Vatican sounds off, though.

undermining the faith of millions of Christians (Checking my faith). Yep, still there. Can't speak for the other "millions."

Ha, you are really catching heat for this last line. Basically all traditional American values, traditions and customs are under attack. What was good is now bad, and what was bad is good. Welcome to Bizzaro America. It really is amazing (and infuriating) to watch.

Amata has a delayed sense of outrage.
Cartoons such as these have been published every day in the Arab world since 1948. I know of no such similar outrage over them from the church.
It's a bit late in the game to start voicing complaints over a science fiction movie about Christianity.

There are enough Catholics in the US, and non-Catholics who would defend them (other Christians and Jews) that they should have enough political power if they would only defend their faith from the popular culture's smear. However, as a whole (generalization, not overgeneralization), Catholics simply accept popular culture without a protest. Until the last election most voted for the pro-abortion and Anti-christianity party. Will Catholics boycott this movie and ask other Christians to do the same? Will they boycott any future Hanks and Howard movies? Will they heap scorn and shame onto their heads for this bigoted and vicious movie? If not, then whining about it will not be enough.

a film that can only have the effect of undermining the faith of millions of Christians? If your faith is so fragile that it will be undermined by a freaking MOVIE, then stay home and keep the faith.

I for one do not believe Jesus was married... But even if he was, where is the sin in that? Marriage an institution blessed by God.
I am a Bible believing Christian, but there are a few things that leave to question. Who's wedding was it at Canaan? In those days, the groom was responsible for the wine. Why would Mary turn to Jesus and say we are out of wine?
Is it possible, yes... but I don't believe it.
Where is Childbirth a sin. Or having offspring? After all Jesus is the Son of God and was born from woman...
If Jesus was married and had marital relations and had sired offspring... where is the sin in that?

2 Chronicles 36:16 (Whole Chapter)
But the people mocked these messengers of God and despised their words. They scoffed at the prophets until the LORD's anger could no longer be restrained and there was no remedy.

Funny. 13 posts and I have yet to read anything from the A-men-chorus-for-Israel standing up for anti-bigotry when it comes to Christianity. I mean the same Freepers who swarm every time an article (of gasp, Buchannon) is posted and who blast him for an anti-semite.

"Who's wedding was it at Canaan? In those days, the groom was responsible for the wine. Why would Mary turn to Jesus and say we are out of wine?"John 2:1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." 4 "Woman, [a] why do you involve me?" Jesus replied. "My hour has not yet come." 5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
If the wedding was Jesus', then why did Jesus invite himself?
If the groom was responsible for the wine, then why did Jesus question Mary's making him responsible?

Why would Mary ask Jesus in the first place.
My point is the ones being married are not mentioned, yet Jesus must have known them as well as if not more than the Disciples.
Again... I do not believe Jesus was the one Married, or the marriage would have been mentioned as would the fact Jesus had a wife.

The double standard of how our media and "elites" treat Christianity versus Islam could not be more stark.
In my opinion, there are two reasons for it.
#1: Cowardice. This is the reason for 80% of them. They'd love to attack Islam, but they're simply too scared.
#2: Hatred of Christians. For the other 20%, it's the old axiom--the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
