Manuel Leija Sanchez Sentenced To One Year

(CBS) CHICAGO The man the 2 Investigators exposed as running a multi-million dollar phony document ring here in Chicago was sentenced to a year in prison Monday.

Manuel Leija Sanchez pled guilty to possession of a fake ID like the ones the CBS 2 Investigators purchased in an undercover sting.

Pam Zekman reported on the brazen sales operations at a 26th Street shopping center in the Little Village area.

A spokesman for the state's attorney's office says that after Sanchez serves his sentence, he will be held for deportation.

Meanwhile, as Pam reported, others have taken his place in the phony I.D. ring.

Under anti-terrorism laws, there should be a threshold for purveyors of fake documentation being classified as capital criminals, and becoming eligible for the death penalty.

The threshold could be the quality of the fake documentation. The better the fake, the more likely that the crime can be classified as a capital offense.

This is what the Bush administration has spent more money on -- fraudulent document factories. Before, agents spent hundreds of man hours trying to determine which documents were legal and which were not and if they got lucky, it resulted in the arrest of one employer.

What an idiot. Everybody knows the phony I.D. business is dead. He needs to get in the new, phony "I've been in the country 5 years" document business.

I'm sure the crooks here in Mexifornia are working overtime as we type.

Bush's speech tonight was the most unAmerican speech ever made by an American president. He is a disgrace.

Lets see, with any time already served and good time, he'll be back in the printing business in 3 months. Yep, that'll teach him and set an example to others - not.

Thanks for the ping. Interesting. Will the reporters investigate who, what, when, where?

This country is being invaded and the politicians simply wave the white flag. That is treason.
