Duke Lacrosse DNA: Mystery Man Revealed (Accuser's Boyfriend!!!)
ABC News ^ | 13 May 06 | CHRIS CUOMO, GERRY WAGSCHAL, CHRIS FRANCESCANI and LARA SETRAKIAN

May 13, 2006 — The second round of DNA test results in the Duke University rape investigation show "no conclusive match'' to any lacrosse players, defense attorneys said, but a vaginal swab of the alleged rape victim produced DNA from a "single male source'' — a man not on the lacrosse team who did not attend a March 13 party that was the site of the alleged rape.

Joe Cheshire, a defense attorney for Duke University lacrosse players at the center of a rape investigation, said the latest tests show no conclusive match to any of the lacrosse players' DNA. (ABC News

Defense attorney Joe Chesire declined to identify the mystery man or his connection to the alleged victim, but ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned that the unnamed source of the DNA is the alleged victim's "boyfriend," according to her mother.

ABC News is withholding the name of the man because he is apparently not a target of the investigation. Records indicate that Durham, N.C., police gave the "boyfriend'' a cheek swab to collect DNA on May 3, ABC News' Law and Justice Unit has learned exclusively.

It is unclear if or how the first DNA tests missed what appears to be the only foreign genetic material found on the alleged victim's body, defense attorneys said. Two Duke lacrosse players were indicted more than two weeks before the cheek swab was taken from the "boyfriend."

It is also unclear whether the alleged victim had sex with the "boyfriend" the night she claims to have been raped by three Duke lacrosse players. DNA experts tell ABC News that genetic traces of semen can remain in the body up to six days after intercouse.

That is at least as likely a scenario as any we've heard from the prosecutor or the feminazi lynch mob on cable, and more plausible than most.

That is an old article, because we KNOW that they got the results late yesterday--hence the PRESS conference.

Follow the DNA.....How about chain of custody of the DNA?? or Why would the the DNA samples be sent to a lab that couldn't do certain things? (I thought they said they weren't certified to do something.)

So, someone wouldn't roll over in the lab??

They may be misleading us on the May 3rd date of the "boyfriend" swab. Just because they said they took it on May 3rd.....doesn't mean they didn't have an old sample in a database.

And the mother saying "boyfriend" doesn't mean a thing. Be real...Mom wasn't there!!

>>The DNA was sent for retesting before the end of April and everyone was reporting the the results would come back in a few days...suddenly the DA said the results wouldn't be in until May 15. It sounds like he got a heads up from the lab that there was semen, but they couldn't match it to the players. That's when he decided to test the boyfriend in order to rule him out and it backfired.<<

You hit it! That's exactly why those results -- due any day several weeks ago -- were delayed until now.

I don't think Nifong is looking beyond his own re-election. I doubt he cares about the national implications.

Democrats have been using this "we stand for blacks, the GOP is racist" ploy for 40 years now. It's not something new.

But let's not forget, Nifong is white in a town that the media claims is 45% black, meaning that he had to have some black votes (that might have gone to his black opponents) in order to win the primary. Whoever wins the primary is going to be a Democrat and likely win the general election so the national party doesn't really care who wins. Only Nifong does. It was self-serving of him to turn this into a big media show rather than letting the facts didctate the direction of the case.

What this case also does is play into all the leftist media stereotypes about wealthy privileged bigoted southerners (never mind the accused are from NY and NJ) abusing a poor black woman (never mind that she's probably lying and was only at the party because she was hired to strip for money). Early on, the media would have you believe that it was the KKK raping and beating Rosa Parks.

The case is unraveling. When the first set of DNA came back negative, you could say "Game Over". All that's left now is the baseless accusations smoldering from a baseless case.

When he tryin' to get this money for the rent
For the Cadillacs and gas money spent
because a whole lot of bitches talkin' sh--."

(And they're too damned stupid to show up sober for a dance gig so they can get mo money, mo money, mo money, out of those privileged white Duke boys. What's a hard working pimp going to do these days huh? I ask ya! Ya feelin' me dog? You know what I'm talkin' 'bout))

Then, the payoffs are being made as we speak.

Did anything Nifong do deviate from a "normal schedule"?

Still, going back a bit, were either of the first two players accused of rape considered exceptional players?

And how about the guy(s) making arrangements for strippers that evening - do they have any known involvement with professional gamblers or others in the organized crime stable, e.g. hookers, strippers, dope dealers? You know, the usuals.

BTW, I was surprised at how easy it was to find 229,000 listings for "gambling" "duke" "lacrosse" ~ and that was BEFORE my question/inquiry was described as "ridiculous".

I think the silver lining, if there is ever a silver lining to this kind of thing, would be a new crop of young conservatives from Duke and other universities. Duke was the type of place conservatives were openly mocked without recourse. Rational young men and women, silently outraged by the pot-banging feminists and race baiters, will acquire their own, independent perspectives.

Justice Alito became a conservative because of the shameful activism of Princeton during the VietNam era. The Ivy Leagues (Summers incident in Harvard; Taliban in Yale) and wannabes are unwittingly cultivating a new generation of conservative thinkers.

He would have known MUCH before this that there was semen. They have a local forensics lab. Several samples would have been taken.

We know a young man who graduated from Duke. He received his appointment as a judge in California from Gray Davis (as one of his final acts).

They ain't all Conservative going through there!

So the DNA evidence indicates the accuser had sex with her boyfriend, but not with the accused lacrosse players. How is our mercenary, unscrupulous news media going to get around that one?

Better yet, how's Nifong going to get around it? Arrest the lab techs on some BS, trumped up charge to persuade them to change their stories?

Jane and Howlin,

I'm new to this site. Is this guy for real? Isn't this typical troll behavior?

Period. Full stop. End of sentence. End of paragraph. End of story.

Just the First Act. There's still the consequences part of the story to follow. Consequences to Difong, the liar whore, possibly her pimp and the weak-kneed Duke Administration. Hoping the Second Act is better than the first.

I think we have some serious "search" problems with this Duke thing. The type of information we are all after should have been readily found before the rape news.

I was able to limit the number of references substantially (down to just over 500) by setting google.com to list 100 per page.

That eliminated all references prior to the rape case.

I didn't say Nifong was behind the "big picture" use of this to portray the Dems as once again the champion of poor blacks (at the precise moment that black Republicans are seeking black votes in OH, PA and MD). Nifong has his local, personal reasons.

But then, so does Ronnie Earl against DeLay and the Special Prosecutor against Scooter Libby. I think the national Dems are working hand in glove with these people, though, and vice-versa. That is my view. You have yours. We both freely express it.

That's what's great about America and especially FRee Republic.
