Here's a short list of just the recent lies from you open source lunatics. Starting with the flaming dude from hell, who still refuses to admit his lies after months.

I've never been a fan of Ubuntu myself. Try Mepis 6.

This week, we helped a guy on here install it on his laptop...he got everything working with Mepis right out of the box, including wireless.

And, if you want to install new software in Mepis, just click Start>System>Synaptic Package Manager. After entering your password, you can search for software and install it point-and-click.

IIRC, the nVidia drivers are included with Mepis too, so you just go to the Mepis OS center, click on Mouse and Display, click the "Nvidia" tab and make sure "Official Nvidia Driver" is checked (you might have to restart your computer afterward). But, chances are, Mepis will detect and configure your video automatically and you will have to do nothing. Regardless, it is a live CD, so you can try it out before you install.

Mepis is way easier than most distributions, in my opinion.

If you need help, ping me. I'll let N3WBi3 or somebody know and we'll get a Tech Help thread going.

So I say Windows 95 was more consumer friendly than Linux 2006

You have given it every possible chance, as we both know. But the problem with Linux though is not just the software, it's these lunatics like FLAMING DEATH who are always goading you into wasting more time every year trying it.

You're just starting to figure out what I learned several years ago, that the "free" software movement is a bunch of ridiculous hype, pushed by kooks that will do anything to make software free. Sure some free utils are always good, but running your O/S on welfare is a big mistake.

Your post, not mine. But, you're right about it being a lie.

As for the rest, I don't care to visit sites such as DU, your second favorite hangout (Stallman.com is the first).

Just ignore the resident fud-flinging troll. He's cranky today because he misread something.

If you want, you can freepmail me if you decide to try Mepis. I'll help you any way I can.

Keep linking whatever you want Flamer, because practically anyone outside your cult who follows any of your links will confirm what a raving madman you are. You've already once again proven it on this thread, but linking other instances of your insanity is always appreciated!

You sure this is satire? So they make fun of God too?

http://shelleytherepublican.com/

TheInquirer.net

Whilst this site is of concern to any decent minded webmaster; I am more worried by a British news-site called "The Inquirer"; Anybody who works in the computer industry will recognize this publication; It's distinctive red-top confirms it's association with Marxist traditions of journalism.

Since The Inquirer was founded; it's mission statement has always been to provide misleading left-wing propaganda with a view to causing harm to the American IT industry.

They never have a single nice thing to say about American products; and everything they publish is written with a disgusting Limey sneer. I suppose you could call them "Activist Journalists", but that would be too high-praise for this site; I am sure they make it all up as no manufacturer with any sense would be willing to talk to their operatives.

So now you know who are sending these illiterate, godless mobs to harass us. Our old enemies, the Marxists and the Democrats who in turn are being led by their traditional puppet-masters the British. These are the people who want you to stop reading Shelley's site.

But I have news for you crazy Europeans; This is America, land of free-speech – and no matter how many Linux hackers try to shut down our site, we intend to keep telling the truth no matter what it takes. As Christ is our example, this is what we promise!

Now I am starting to get it. This is a liberal whackjob site, and they try to mock Republicans and Christians for their beliefs. No wonder you guys love it so much. It has a distinct intent to attrack international attention, and portray Republicans and Christians and basically all Americans in the worst possible light. Well, from their point of view that is. Being those that don't like the fact that most Republicans don't care for druggies, homosexuals, and all the other stuff they lampoon on there including foreign freeware like Linux.

I'm a glutton for punishment. Today I downloaded the mini-install of Mandriva 2006. Very quick installation. This is not a live CD. I can tell it got my screen resolution correct. Only problem is i can't log on. I'll look at Mephis6. Thanks

Here's another computer savvy guy frustrated by Linux --->

Read the comments, you'll see how anti-Americans from overseas love Linux. Which of course makes perfect sense, considering our current and long time dominance of the software industry.

The GPL does not require you to release your modified version. You are free to make modifications and use them privately, without ever releasing them.

Do you have to distribute the source code if you don't distribute the Linux OS itself? Nope, you don't. That's the truth, and that's exactly what I posted in the first post.

Both of those statements are factually true. Why do you call them lies?

As far as the rest, I've already destroyed several of your points, yet you continue to post this drivel. At least you stopped claiming China runs Red Flag on all of its supercomputers, I guess that's progress.
