Accused Duke lacrosse player Reade Seligmann's attorneys want Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong thrown off the case.
Today, they filed a legal motion specifically asking for it.
"DA Mike Nifong neglected his duty as a prosecutor to seek the truth and a fair prosecution," the defense's motion reads.
The motions were filed just 24 hours before Nifong's Tuesday election in which he's fighting to keep his seat. Nifong is being challenged by former prosecutor Freda Black and private lawyer Keith Bishop

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Election officials said North Carolina voters could record the lowest primary turnout in the state's recorded history.
Elections Chief Gary Bartlett says at first, he was hoping for a turnout of 13 percent. Now, he said the number could be lower.
A handful of hotly contested races are drawing more recognition.
A steady stream of voters came in Durham County, where District Attorney Mike Nifong has drawn criticism for his handling of the Duke rape case.
Durham County elections director Mike Ashe said he hoped the country would beat its previous high turnout of 27 percent.

Even if Nifong loses, he will remain in office until January, allowing him to keep pursuing his case against two indicted players. He has said he does not intend to step down early if he loses.
WRAL's numbers do not match ABC11's.
WRAL already has Bishop with 3389 votes with 26 percincts in.
ABC11 has Biship with 2977 votes with 52 precincts reporting.
Something's not adding up.

It is hard to imagine someone as incompetent as Nifong could win. But then a jury gave OJ a pass.
Maybe Nifong was talking to the NBP's more to get them to go out to the black community to get the vote out. Promising them that he'd take the case to trial and get a conviction. That could be why there weren't that many NBP's at the house. The others were out there getting out the vote.
Again....what do you expect from Democrates?

Correct. The 'suspects' being rich Yankees didn't help much. Heck, I used to think this DA was stupid and unprofessional.

A stupid caller just asked why the boys aren't begging for a lie detector test and NM laughed and said "good question!" NG thinks that they didn't ask for one because they know they won't pass.
But Nancy... They DID ask for a lie detector test! Get the facts straight.
Let's hope Freda pulls up....I can't stand the thought of Nifong winning.
