Accused Duke lacrosse player Reade Seligmann's attorneys want Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong thrown off the case.
Today, they filed a legal motion specifically asking for it.
"DA Mike Nifong neglected his duty as a prosecutor to seek the truth and a fair prosecution," the defense's motion reads.
The motions were filed just 24 hours before Nifong's Tuesday election in which he's fighting to keep his seat. Nifong is being challenged by former prosecutor Freda Black and private lawyer Keith Bishop
We found a picture of Ned Mangum with an elementary school class and he is not likely closely related to the central character here.
Is number 4 Finnerty?
He's the complaint for reference:

Wait a second ... has this been discussed before ... a green Honda Accord was at the house when the police arrived?

Thanks.
There are lots of Mangums in North Carolina and Durham. We shouldn't assume that all or even most of them are related to Crystal. Some are white, for instance, and even the black Mangums I'm sure are not all related to each other. My mother's maiden name is similar- it is rather common in my state among whites and blacks, most of whom are not related to one another.
You are amazing!
I visited the link earlier... I know you are much to professional for such sloppiness...
So this is how the ID's were made... What was up with all the scratch marks on the torso ID process? This sounds like she ID'd them from head shots...
Obviously RS didn't need no stinking RJ since he was in front of her instead of behind....
Oh lord, did I read somewhere her car was green?
I am just curious about Terry Mangum only because he was named in the court case in the early 90's.
I've also read the car was navy blue ... and there's this from WRAL:
12:41:32 a.m. The accuser is seen getting into a black Honda Accord.

with virginia tags? not likely hers...
Included in one of the defense filings yesterday, was a shown statement from a player or coach that team policy forbid having a mustache. So much for Perp 3 aka Pancho Villa.

No, no, no, not just so much for perp 3. Her whole credibiility is shot unless they can come up with others who were at the party and had a mustache.
She was according to her assaulted by someone with a mustache. If there was no one there with a mustache, her already very weak credibility takes yet another hit.

Right, that is why we have looked for pictures of the various Mangums as their names have come up. Ned Mangum in the prosecutors office appears to be white, as I suggested in an earlier post. Similarly we found a picture of a state purchasing director. We don't know abot Terry Mangum of the DPD. That is why the search for the picture online.

"One team member gave defense lawyers a sworn statement that lacrosse players were not allowed to have mustaches."
Editorial misconduct.... possibly?
The goings on in the backyard are still a bit curious to me...
moustache is a variation of mustache
Two pictures at 12:30:34... Do you think that's a double entry in the article or are there multiple pictures at the same instant... And why no listing of the 12:31 photo that says she appears to be stumbling... I'm wondering if the second 12:30:34 pictures should have been the 12:31 shot...

Actually I wonder if it was intended to read "two pictures at" 12:31... That is both 12:30:34 and 12:31:04 or whatever for the second time rounded to 12:31. That would be a sensible thing in writing a more reader friendly newspaper article.
