the child needs prayers me thinks
I think you are correct--both (related) parents in prison. I hope she has some good extended family around.
As you point out, both the parents are in jail and she slept with her cousin, so the likelihood of extended family being a whole lot better isn't really good.
Totally bizarre.
What did he learn from his sexual encounter with her?
I'm surprised this isn't beyond the Statute of Limitations. A truly bizarre tale. And I must question whether or not it is in the best interests of the child to put her mother in prison, esp. at this late date.
>>Though rape of a child younger than 13 now carries a life prison term, there was no provision for a life sentence when Davis had sex with her cousin, Potts said.<<
Hopefully there is some provision for statutory rape instead - or else we will eventually see a 14 or 15 year old go to jail for life for having sex with someone a year or two younger.
She didn't mention she was a rapist (claiming she was raped) in her book I sure is going to get Oprah's ire. Recall James Frey and Oprah.
I feel duped
This story is horrible on so many levels, but I'm puzzled as to why she decided to "come clean" about it now.
Perhaps she has developed a strong moral compass that won't let her allow her to rest until she owns up to her lie. Since the victim (cousin) of her assault is in prison for rape and robbery, perhaps she feels guilty about her part in how his life has turned out. Maybe he forced the issue in some way, and she felt she had no choice but to own up to it all. My heart goes out to her poor child, who has in her ten short years already lived a life of upheaval and grief, and who now will suffer even more.
What's the deal with all these women raping younger boys stories lately. What agenda is the MSM setting up?
I would not let her babysit my children.
That's what I was thinking.
D.N.A.

She got caught.
My heart goes out to her poor child
Mine too, she should be placed with a family as far away from her current one as possible.
I suppose it could be that. Then again maybe she has a new book coming out.
That should give some pause to the folks who opine that when it's a young boy "getting lucky", there should be no complaint because "he really didn't have anything bad happen to him".
***Davis' expected plea on Friday will be in lieu of an indictment, county Prosecutor Ron O'Brien confirmed.***
I take that to mean that they somehow got the goods on her, and she pled guilty to avoid an indictment and probably a longer term in jail.
Whatever, that child should NEVER have been given back to the mother who wrapped her up in plastic to GET RID OF HER.
Is she a teacher?

Agreed! I'm mighty sick of the threads in which men refuse to believe that the boy got "lucky." My tagline says it all.
