First time I heard his show I laughed my freaking ass off..
It's like the Onion meets jerry springer or something.
Funny stuff.

A few of my favorite Hendrie characters were Steve Bozell, Mavis Leonard, Jay Santos & of course, Ted Bell.

Basically, KFI just wanted to have that topical "local block" with John and Ken followed by Ziegler. Phil got moved over to their sister station.

The most rediculous radio show I've heard in my life. Enough to make you puke. Savage is the second most rediculous.

I had hoped he had a bigger role on Futurama, one of my cult favorites, but...he was the voice of Free Waterfall, Sr; Free Waterfall, Jr., Old Man Waterfall, and Frieda Waterfall. The characters were all EcoNuts in the 30th Century. (Old Man Waterfall was a polygamist Libertarian Lawyer as well. Say, there might be a TV series in that one!)

I heard some third hand info that he had upset somebody at KFI and basically got "demoted" to KLAC. I like Ziegler, but I miss Hendrie's show.

Agreed...I tell my friends to this day his best shows were right after 9-11 and during the Anthrax Attacks.

he does a call-in radio show on does his own voices of the players involved. (usually controversial subjects)

he plays moderator, instigator and call screener. fly-by listeners get incensed and call in to ramble on not realizing they are the joke.

it's quite entertaining.

I think my favorite had to be Lloyd Bonifide. LOL!!

And it's been a while back, but he did a bit where a guy was suing his mother-in-law for not letting him make the cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving! That was one of those where I was sitting out in the driveway listening LMAO when my wife had to come make sure I was alright!!

Didn't help either when the FCC went after Stern and then everything Phil did was affected in one way or another...like Ted's of Beverly Hills...We Want To Put Our Meat In Your Mouth....and then in recent months bleep out the word meat.

As much as I respect all of your post over the years, I could care less about this POS, Just my opinion.

Oh beat me to it! Didn't see yours. His parodies of Art Bell were hilarious.

Amen to both! When he was on briefly in Dallas, I used to ask my wife to listen to him on her drive home. She'd be so mad, especially the one time when Ted Bell said the voter registrar in his district let him vote over the phone. "How could they let him do that?"

I finally had to let her in on the secret.

I remember a skit with Larry Grover (of the Conservatives of Kern County) where Larry was calling in from his mom's screen porch. He kept telling her to turn the TV down so he could talk to the "important" Phil Hendrie.

I've tried explaining his act to people, but it's one those "you gotta hear it" things.

Hendrie is hilarious...one of a kind. A real guy IMO, not a phony. The radio landscape has become boring as hell...monotonous...a million cookie-cutter conservatives all yelling the same thing nearly verbatim...and a few sorry-ass, loser leftists crying on the end of the dial in the middle of the night and weekends.

During one of the playoff games against the Penguins and the Panthers in 1996...Phil had Bob Green of the NHL Commissioners Office call into the show to tell people the NHL was canceling the playoffs because there is no way hockey could be popular in Miami and they changed their mind and were going to move the games further north to at least Atlanta (who did not have a team at the time)because they were a market that once had a team and lost it.

This was on WIOD back then...and I am telling you...so many people called in who were pissed off...they actually were buying it.
