                  My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
 I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
 through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
 my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Actually, I think you did...But the thing of the poem was that I was wondering where you were...and I posted just about the time you pinged...(I have two windows open to FR, to help me keep up with my prayer threads, and I happened to notice that in another window.)

    Written on another thread.

From the balcony high I see
 the Kingdom of Reverie
days and nights of dreaming things
 Dragons with iridescence wings
 bejeweled bellies, glittering bright
in the darkness of the night
In my room with such a view
a lucky dreamer of pleasant things
when I awake it's still all there
a living castle in the air.

    Good afternoon, Jewels!

Ah, cooler today! No AC running, how about your neck of the woods?

Is the new med helping your eye infection??

To: bentfeather
Hot and muggy here. Fortunately, it'll cool tomorrow, naturally to crawl back up the scale next week.

I hope the a/b cream is fixing my eyes. The optometrist doesn't want to give me an eye test till they're better and the trifocals I'm wearing were cut wrong by the opto I fired and contacts are out with an infection. I am excited about tomorrow and being able to see again!

Now that my tooth isn't cutting up my tongue, when I get my contacts back, I'll be downright giddy!

Thank you. I'm optimistic. There's so much going on, it's hard sort out, but the smoothed tooth let me sleep better last night and gave me more energy today.

    Oh my goodness, wonderful poem!

Thank you very much. I'm happy to report that this one was 100% personally inspired.

It really is the sum total of everything in my life right now, combined with the physical location I find myself in. I'm really amazed that just a few weeks ago I was only willing to try a little six line rhyme, now I'm penning sweeping, epic emotional histories!!

Well, I have you to thank for it. Your welcoming site is a great place for neophytes to try out the medium, as well as for all of your accomplished poets to ply their craft. Thank you.

This final piece of mine will act as my "mini-opus". I'm not leaving FR permanently, but many things in my life are coming to an inevitable "harmonic convergence". My affairs in Taiwan will soon wrap up, and I'll move to a new place with new realities soon enough. As well, having first come to Taiwan 15 years ago, and having seen immense change (unfortunately mostly for the worse, as China takes over all manufacturing in Asia, many Asian economies are struggling, especially Taiwan's) As such Taiwan has largely lost its way, and the people, once classy and confident, have become quite bitter and nasty, in a sadly cowardly way.

It all boils up together to become a "lot of water under the bridge" moment. So I'll be taking a few months off from FR, where the dialog is often stimulating, but at times can become itself a strain.

I just wanted to thank you again for this great experience in poetry, and give you a heads up as to why I won't seem to be around much in the next few months.

In a few days I'm pitching out this old computer and setting off, after that I'm not sure when I'll be back, but I'm sure the Lair will still be here, whenever I finally to show back up again!

 Warmest regards,

 starbase

It's been such a grand pleasure to have you here. I am so proud of you! You jumped in with both feet and gave us lovely poetry.

Best of wishes in your new adventure. We shall miss you, however, we will look forward toward your return to the Lair. I have no plans to take the Lair on any trips. LOL

Well, we may fly a dragonfly or two! ;)
Again, good luck to you Starbase.
We shall be watching for you to shine our way again.

Good night everyone.
 Dream a little~love a lot.

As my wife makes our cabin comfortable for the night, so she can rest up for her fishing clubs tournment this weekend, I sit here and work on another book and a bit of poetry.

#1.

Observation on Observing

Sweet the sight
by Siriuss bright light
as the moon does coyly flirt
behind a clouds gossamer skirt
and the stars dance in circles all night

Sweep the sky
asteroids flit and fly
and ancient planets onward soar
stellar sources burn evermore
and in wonder I then softly sigh

#2

The Hindrance of Hindsight

Soft, soft
the loon cries
across the star speckled waters
as night winds
whisper
of other times
of other places
of other rhymes
of other faces
and I long for a fold in time

Odd the things that runs through a mind in the wee hours of the day.
