The Dragonflies Lair~Thread XXVII~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Alterability

Inversion of force
causes undue stress
and structures change
within and without me
pay attention and see
things shift and derange
where oft more is less
along life’s long course

Preening for the impending flight
checking airways
they need to be right

flying high o'er predators

Sometimes it's good to bend
other times, it's good to stay straight
on the internal course
and listen to the gut talk
it's the compass, the route signs,
that tell us when to bend and when to balk

After, milling about the piles of lies
I would belie the inside guide to hide

The times are changing here and there
the cosmic mystic has taken me there.
But them I've always been a dreamer
and have lived between here and there
knowing that truth surely lives somewhere.

But if he performs ballet, he gets the frogs for free!

This one got free frogs and look at him!

OMGOSH!

This would be a catbird?? No wings though. Odd shaped legs and feet.

Yes, it's a catbird, but it prefers to ignore its bird legs.

Well as long as you have gone to the birds, here's one for you. LOL

Seems my cats are menaced by the hamerkops, which look and sound like minature like teradactyls. Their scrawks start predawn, which has never been a problem for the felines, but I am throwing pillows and anything I can get a hand on to get some peace. Their nest is just a few yards from my garden, gack! what a mess.!

I guess I should offer a poem?

Overhead, the underhanded,
get what they want,
charge everything
to capital and reserve
the game
for the upperclassèd

I loved your Memorial day presentation of In Flanders Field. Thanks.

Hello! So nice to see you, and thank you.
I love the poem Flander's Field.

Nice little poem you left. ;)

What is this bird
that hammers at your
rest, and near your window too,
yuk is sure right to blast
a pillow or two out the window
toward them, but the toss of the pillow
could not be retrieved after having
landed in the nest of the hamerkops loft,
hamerkops feathers and down be dammed
I'll never look at a hen the same way again.

Whew that is a big bird.
