My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Ant by Ogden Nash |
|
The ant has made himself illustrious Through constant industry industrious. So what? Would you be calm and placid If you were full of formic acid?

Happiness is what I seek,
Of happiness I hope to reek.
If what I seek, I can find not,
I'll turn myself into a snot.

Going through some old favorite poetry, I've posting some that I feel are worthy of rereading.
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
~ By William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Ah, you know I saw that poem this morning and was going to post it. Now I'm glad I did not.
It's a lovely poem. Thanks.

Happily daydreaming of flowers dancing connotes serious spring fever, and I have it. I won't keep waxing poetic, but I will post the occasional poem of joy.

Good morning everyone.
To: bentfeather
Now that the daystar glimmers bright
We suppliantly pray
That He, the uncreated Light,
May guide us on our way.
No sinful word, nor deed of wrong,
Nor thoughts that idly rove,
But simple truth be on our tongue,
And in our hearts be love.
And while the hours in order flow,
O Christ, securely fence
Our gates, beleaguered by the foe,
The gate of every sense.
And grant that to Thine honor, Lord,
Our daily toil may tend;
That we begin it at Thy Word,
And in Thy favor end.
To God the Father glory be,
And to His only Son,
And to the Spirit, One and Three,
While endless ages run.
Ambrose of Milan translated by John H. Newman

Mosquitoes don't have that many wings!
