Sorry if this has been posted, I searched and did not find it. This article appears to be a typical NY Slimes attempt to give this rapidly unraveling case some sort of credibility, but I thought it was interesting fodder for discussion!

By this version, if they were in the bathroom for either 10 or 20 minutes, and then went outside, Seligmann is in the clear. He left in a cab at 12:19 after walking a couple of blocks to where he was picked up. 20 minutes would put this at 12:24 and Seligmann was gone for 5 minutes by then. 10 minutes would put it at 10:14, but again, they went outside, and if there were still a few minutes left before they went back inside, Seligmann still could not have had time to participate in an attack.

Do away with escort services? Ban parties on, off, or near college towns? I think not. It starts in the home to respect everyone and be mature. I pray my son learns from this and does not act this way once he is in college. I am doing my best....

DNA, SchmeeNA. You're talking hard scientific evidence....actually the LACK of it.

This is all about jury selection. With the appropriate, chip-on-its-shoulder, race and class-minded jury, the prosecutor only needs to come up with an appropriate pre-school level nursery rhyme (ala "it does not fit, so you must acquit") and the "rich" white boys are as good as behind bars.

As for the allegations, while there was no DNA, I'm not so sure that something didn't happen. The guys in question look like just the type of sleazy frat boys with huge trust funds that might try to sexually assault someone. Unfortunately, date rape and sexual assaults on college campuses these days. When I was in college, I'd never accept a drink from a stranger/ casual acquaintance at a party or a bar and I always carried a personal alarm, mace, and a cell phone whenever I went out.

But there are other forms of DNA besides the obvious kind most people are thinking of-hair, saliva, etc. Was none of that found on her after a rape kit was done at the hospital?

Two questions come to mind. 1. Can a medical exam show the difference between rape and rough consensual sex?
2. Just how big is this bathroom?
