Actually Kim has never said they left the house and were coaxed back inside to dance some more.
The boys have never said that either.
I'm thinking the AV made that part up. Note the police affidavit describing the AV's account does not include anything about her going to the car and going back to then get her shoe.
After listening to the Kim interview, I don't think ANYONE is going to sweet-talk her into dancing again after she has made up her mind that she was "disrepected" and "the show is OVER."
The most crucial question- how much time elapsed between the period Kim was seperated from AV until Kim saw AV again?
That was the only time the rape could have happened- and it completely exonerates Seligman. The girls stop dancing at 12:03. They lock themsleves in the bathroom. Then they go out to Kim's car. The Duke boys convince them to go back in the house. AV and Kim get seperated. Then both strippers leave and go out to Kim's car. AV says she forgot her shoe and goes back to the door- we see the time of the photo is 12:30. There wasn't enough time for a rape. My theory- I think once they went back in the house, Kim was negotiating for the rest of the money the Duke boys owed them and AV was using the bathroom to relieve herself. The boys wouldn't pay any more money and nasty words were exchanged. AV came out of the bathroom and both strippers left with Kim swearing up a storm and insulting the Duke boys. AV went back to get her shoe but the boys wouldn't let her in and wouldn't give the shoe back. Drunken AV falls down steps and Duke boy takes several pics. I think the rest of the Duke boys were already outside trading insults with Kim. Duke captain helps stripper to car while Duke boys continue to hurl insults.Kim knows no rape happened because she was only seperated from AV for a few minutes.
Kim Roberts claims she didn't go back into the house. Mangum claims she did, and that they were immediately separated, at least in her original rendition.
Bissey puts them entering the house the first time at 11:55-12:00. Allowing for clocks and watches to differ from one another by a minute or two, Kim's and Bissey's initial accounts square with the photos and the claim that the dance lasted about 5 minutes. They would have needed a few minutes to get ready, get their music going and such, so a total of ten minutes from 11:55 to 12:05 makes sense. Also, there doesn't seem to be a point in that time frame for Mangum to have guzzled down both her and Kim's drink. Bissey said they came out a while later -enough time for him to have taken a shower and gotten dressed again- before more commotion started up outside again. This was when he heard one guy trying to get them to come back inside and the guys on the side of the house talking about getting their money back. Bissey originally said that both women went back into the house, and heard the remark about the shoe. If the guys are telling the truth that at some point they locked themselves in the bathroom, the question is was that before or after they came back in.
I think they went back in BEFORE they locked themselves in the bathroom, money was taken back from them, they locked themselves in the bathroom, money was slipped under the door to them to get them to leave, they leave, Mangum still doesn't have her shoe, Kim gets in the car, Mangum is on the porch, tries to get into the house, isn't let in or is and whatever money she got from being slipped under the bathroom door is taken from her, hangs around whining to get in, falls down the steps, gets put in the car, Mangum's purse and/or money is gone, Kim goes back to try to bully the guys into giving her Mangum's money for her or she'll make trouble, they tell her to hit the road, she leaves yelling stuff back at them, they're all outside by this time, the cabbie pulls up at about 12:45 and sees Kim coming from the side of the house and get into her car, and everyone drives off or walks off within a minute or two, Kim calls the cops, and everyone is gone when the cops arrive.
For all the times that Bissey has called the cops on these guys, you would think he would have called that night also, what with all the commotion and yelling.
It's too bad he didn't.
