To be honest, it wasn't merely walking into the wrong room that got him charged...

Watering down the defintion doesn't help those who are rape victims at all. This is one of the reasons I never brought my abusers to trial. I had a secret fear that no one would believe me.

"She made a mistake as to who she was having sex with and so did the defendant."And that's their story and they're stickin' to it.

This is absurd! You mean to tell me that neither one could tell that they were not having sex with their normal "sex partner"? Riiiiiiiiight

She made a mistake as to who she was having sex with and so did the defendant." SO if they both made a "mistake", how come he's the only one facing a rape charge????

PARIS: "I believe all of this! I like, you know, got out of bed, you know, and was looking for the bathroom because I had eaten a Cheeto and needed to barf it up but I got lost in the dark, you know. Then I accidently got in to bed with the Dallas Mavericks and had sex, you know. It was all a simple misunderstanding because I had just got out of bed with the Detroit Pistons and I really thought I was back with them! Believe me, this kind of stuff happens to me all the time!"

ROFL. This magazine editor has a boyfriend, but she decides to invite some stranger that she just met in a bar to come over to her place and spend the night in a different bedroom, and ends up having sex with him by "mistake"?
Whatever.

We need to decide once and for all
are women children or adults?
This silliness that started in the 60s called the "women's movement" has infantilized women.

After the fact rape?
He walks in to dark room.
She in the dark room consents to sex with man who entered in dark room.
During the sex act they consented.
After the act complete, OOPS when the lights go on.
NOBODY NOTICED?!
This seems like a caviat emptor, pig in a poke, glass house kind of situation.
IOW if you jump the person you feel in the dark you have no right to complain about what you see when the lights come on.

The flatmate participated because she thought it was her own boyfriend who had come to bed after falling asleep in the loungeroom. When she turned on the light, the "hysterical" woman saw Chappell in her bed and realised her boyfriend was still asleep on the couch. Doesn't matter why she participated, but she gave consent. If he didn't leave after she said for him to leave, THEN it's rape. Before that it was just a stupid woman.

If I were not so pure, I might want to ask whether the woman in the dark bed room was better looking than the woman he went home with. Thank goodness I am pure.
