Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Until the stars are all alight
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

UUUrgh! I so empathize with you guys! Such events are the reason why my carry-on *always* has 2 books, a quart of water, and some snacks. I can make do if I have a book.

Heh, I ALWAYS carry extra water, snacks and reading material on the plane. My backpack it just about bursting at the seams because I carry an small pillow, as well. This last time, I brought a blanket because sometimes planes are just too refrigerated for me, even with long sleeves. I was flying AirTran, and I'd read that they don't supply pillows and blankets like the other airlines.

My 2-book rule has proven to be insurance against plane delays. The only times I've gotten stuck were when I only had 1 book and no snacks.
My flights are usually long enough for 1.5 paperbacks anyway.

Sheesh. Well, he'll be arriving shortly after 8pm.
Or so says the flight tracker. *fingers crossed*
In other news, they never came to pick up my car today. Turns out the driver had some mechanical troubles and I'll have to leave the keys with my mom so that they can pick it up tomorrow evening.
Sheesh. So much for doing everything in advance to avoid last-minute hassles. :-/

I harvested the rest of my turnip and collard crop and planted some Roma II bush beans in their place. I also put a couple of okra inside the bunny fence.
I've got green tomatoes and lots of blossoms, the eggplant is getting ready to bloom and I'm already getting some of the hot pepper...they're not red yet, but they're hot all right!
My squash haven't bloomed yet.

Oh dear.... I hope he brought enough nicorette gum :~D

I have one tomato plant this year, and a gardener with any pride at all would have yanked it out of the ground long ago before someone saw it :~D
It's basically one branch of a plant I bought, that fell off the truck and most of the plant broke off. I stuck it in the planter anyway, and it has since grown only a little and has one blossom on it.
Here's a picture of our Twitter cat laying in the shade this afternoon :~)

Oh, dear... when are you flying out anyway? Tomorrow? Sheesh.

He has chaw. :-P
But I still imagine he'll knock a few folks down trying to get off that plane. LOL!
Trini should be here within the next 10 minutes or so. We'll head out about quarter til to meet Ramius.
We fly out tomorrow at half past nine in the morning. It's gonna feel to Ramius as if he's been on a plane for 24 hours, I'll bet.

But I bet he thinks it's worth it.

Wow, what a day, hoping all's well with the flight tonight, the car pick-up tomorrow, etc. etc. Wow, what a day.
What a whirlwind of activity, some of us get 'tarred' just reading about it.
To: HairOfTheDog
Hoping the tooth is okay, alternative medicine may be required and repeat as necessary.
Is 'Twitter' the growed up name for Tweek?
To: osagebowman
TwitterCat has kindof become her call name... not sure why, she seems to like the sound of it :~)
