Hmmm, there aren't many places where it never gets over 70.... maybe you should move to England.
I know what you mean about heat though, especially humid heat like we've been having. I could take a lot more out in CO than I can here.
Mornin' everyone. :-)
In 48 hours we'll be on the plane. *butterflies*
My dad's coming to take the kids bowling and such. I have some laundry and last-minute packing to do. Depending on what fits in the car, I may need to pack another box or two.
~sigh~ Just when I thought I was done with that.
Woohoooo!!!
Heh heh...I was just thinkin' about how you and I talked and talked at WeddingMoot...
Mornin'... :-)
[sip]
Nice clear warm morning here... s'posed to be 93 today. Should be clear all week, though the little forecasterizer says it'll only be 70 on Wednesday.
We have phone(s).
Jen.... I just remembered about your resume... I put it in a corner, and completely forgot about it till I went through my email this morning! Sorry. First of all, it doesn't ~need~ any work, it looks OK, structure-wise :~) But I'll look at it in the next day or two and add the kinds of style things I might do to it just for you to consider, for take it or leave it purposes :~)
93 is just *wrong*. Something tells me I'm gonna wimp out again on mowing the lawn.
At least it cools down nicely at night.
mornin'
Still at my mom's. Got a better connection this a.m. than last night. We're not rushing away today since we were late getting here last night. Plus her sister passed away while we were gone. Funeral was Friday. We didn't even know about it until we were on the way home yesterday (she didn't call).
And, to make it worse, my cousins are idjits. My aunt died around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, but they didn't call my mom until Thursday morning. The visitation was Thursday night. It's about a four hour drive. My mom and stepdad went for the visitation, but didn't have time to make arrangements to be able to stay for the funeral. (actually they probably could have if my stepdad was ever willing to close the store).
So, there's that.

Looks like T-Storms in Miami all week. Yeesh... it'd be just my luck to end up diverted someplace else due to bad weather. [fingers crossed]
Don't jinx it! ;-)
So there's that indeed...
Family, God bless them. :~D
"Planes, Trains and Automobiles" comes to mind :~)
Yesterday, driving down the freeway... there was this car with a painted-up rear window... you know, like people do to say "CHS seniors rule" or "CHS Grad" or some such...
This one said "Proud cousin of a CHS Grad".
Hmm...
Been there, done that. Not interested. :-)
Our high is supposed to be 76 or so today...
Heh....amazing how everything just worked out, isn't it? :-)
Don't worry about the thunderstorms, hon. They pass through quick so the worst you're looking at is circling for a while overhead while it blows through.
BTW, I just called and confirmed my reservation with the auto movers. The driver should be calling me today with an ETA for pickup tomorrow. :-)
And it figures that the hot weather would be scheduled to vanish the moment we arrive back in Washington. :-/
Good grief; your cousins ARE idjits! They didn't even call her SISTER until the following morning? That's just WRONG!
Holy moly! I just got off the phone with the GE customer support. One of the ladies in BA CHEF gave me a GE VCR, works great but no remote and I can't set it to record without the remote! But the remote costs a whopping 30 bucks including shipping!
I have a universal remote that can play, FF, Reverse and record...but it can't set the internal clock or set the timer and such...do they make universal remotes that will set the clock and timers?
I actually have two VCRs with the same problem...plays great...no remote. One is a GE, the other is a Panasonic.
You could try a pawn shop :~D
There's a nice thing about not having any insulation to trap heat, at least in summer :~D
We've been having good breezes too, and that's nice. It's worse when it's really stagnant.
