Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Until the stars are all alight
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Whoa! Vey strange, it is. Animals have a keen sense for changes in the natural world.

I was just commenting with my dad, that still photography sometimes captures a moment better than video ever could, because you get to study the moment much more than you can if you can't linger there.

You wouldn't happen (on the outside chance) to know this Marine, would ya?

He was on the local news last night.
"Gibson says he knew instantly he'd lost his leg, but had no time to think about it,
he was still under fire, and he says death wasn't an option. "I fell to the ground and I kept firing, I changed my magazine at that point because I was almost empty."
Heh heh, I love it..."Sorry, busy...can't die now."

That's a great picture.
Hmm, so why are days after long weekends twice as long? To make up?

I'm writing this one in my space opera universe. My story is going to be set at the Scout camp/High Adventure Base I worked at durring summers throughout college. It's quite a place and tests youngsters on many levels. My main character is a young man, about 15, who is thrust into a leadership position. The story is about how he grows in character and learns about himself and others on a rough backpacking trip, and how his crew of misfits emerge as lifelong friends. I'm drawing from memories (this whole project started as a memoir and then took on a life of its own) of my own adventures, those of my friends, and those of the amazing kids I've met over the years. I'm excited about the possibilities here.

Awesome. Always nice to write out a story that is growing almost on its own.
I'm looking for photographers and calling florists. Scary. But with the wedding three and a half months off I guess I can't dawdle any more.

The good news is...I made it through a long day.
The bad news is...I have a headache agin and about an acre of grass to mow, plus all the rocks to factor in.
*sigh*
To: RosieCotton
(((Rosie)))
Save the mowing for tomorrow.

Tomorrow it's gonna rain again.
Gotta take our sun when we got it here, I guess. Maybe getting my heart going will help with the headache. Headaches are odd things.
If nothing else, it's probably no worse than staring at a screen.
To: RosieCotton
Take three aspirin and drink a large glass of water and kick the headache first. I think if you go mow your head might just explode.
It's not gonna rain till Wed.
To: HairOfTheDog
My headaches don't respond to pain meds usually. Got that mild migraine thing going on where I feel like my nervous system is split in half and my hands aren't responding at the same time. But this one isn't bad yet. I'm gonna at least attempt the front, I guess.
Tomorrow *is* Wednesday... ;-)

To: RosieCotton
Still, drink the water. 90% of headaches are dehydration.
