The Hobbit Hole XXIX - Until the stars are all alight...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 04/20/2006 2:10:46 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Until the stars are all alight

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

My sister is all excited about some movie he's in this fall with Christian Bale where they're dueling magicians.

I'll have to check that one out. We are HUGH Christian Bale fans in this house!

Oh well, if it's doing that well, it might be crowded, and I don't like crowds either... maybe we'd be better to wait a little bit.

An afternoon showing at a big theater might not be crowded - especially if they're showing it on a buncha screens.

I'm not sure if it'd be too early to determine much...but I could at least eyeball the parking lot at the theater when I go by after church - it's at the same exit.

We'll see, though. It'll definitely be less crowded in a week's time...or on a week night.

Finally got to watch the AI finale. That was so cool that they brought the little cowboy dude back! Even though they were mostly just making fun of him, he had to be thrilled to be there on the big stage. ;-)

I enjoyed most of the other awards, too. It was sweet of them to do a little tribute to Elliot's mom...I liked that.

I really enjoyed the "Puck and Pickler" segments. That gal, as was stated on the live thread, proves that not every blonde is dumb but *some* blondes are *really* dumb. She has a future in comedy.

The highlight of the evening was Chris Daughtry singing with Live.

.... *thud*

I've downloaded the Clay Aiken segment and watched it a few times.

Can't seem to find the Chris Daughtry one though. :-/

It was a terrific finale. The best I've seen yet on AI! With the exception of the confetti delay, it was wonderfuly done.

Mornin'. ~sip~

Oh...was also gonna say, I was pleased to note that Pen's last name hadn't changed - Desmond deserves a happy ending some day, poor guy!...

Awful hard getting up early when the weather is so grey. Slept in until eight here...now getting ready to head to church in a few.

I can glance at the theater, but I'm thinking likely we'll want to wait.
