Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Until the stars are all alight
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Forecast is showing a cool-down starting Thursday, so it won't be so hot.
I'm trying to escape heat, for crying out loud!

I think he's making faces at Tam through the back window.

Yeah they look great. Much nice than the sights on my other 10/22. I want to put a red dot on the new one but it is kind of a shame to cover up those nice sights :P
I replaced the front sight on one of my Buckmarks with a fiber optic and that was a very nice improvement.
That model of 10/22 is new to 2006 and has a couple inch shorter stock. It is definitely a great choice for anyone wanting a rifle for persons of the smaller persuasion.

Just got a cal from JenB saying she is home safe. Probably too busy catching up with family to post.
To: TalonDJ
We know how she is... Give her someone better to talk to and she drops us like a bad habit... :~D
To: TalonDJ; JenB
You can tell her the coffee grinder arrived safely, and thanks!
Stoopid of me to leave it behind...

Should be a nice day tomorrow...
Whatever the weather. :-)

By the way he assesses those knives... it's easy to tell he's a man that knows what he's talking about, and someone that appreciates good stuff when he has it. Fine idea sending that set, Mister Mag. Fine idea.

Glad it got there safe Rosie! I got home safe too.
Home now and up way too late. I have the rest of the week to settle in, kick the bothers, and get started on the summer diet plan. Next week starts the high powered internship. So far I have managed to do nothing but wipe out after a shower all over the bathroom floor, ouch.

Glad you had a safe trip, and success unloading your stuff. We're thinking of doing a trip in early June to take a few things, like the kayaks, on down to MS. We're going to see if there's a family in SirKit's brother's Parish who might like to use them for the summer. It would reduce space on a trailer when we make the final move. We might even bring a few tubs of winter clothes, bedding, etc on down in June, too, if his brother can store them for us.
I'm fixing to head out to unload some books at a HUGH homeschool used curriculum sale. I think I have a total of 12 boxes of books, and they are not coming back, even if they don't sell. This homeschool co-op has the option of my leaving the books there, they sell them for me and keep 15% of the total, then I can just donate the remaining books to them! I don't even have to BE there on Sat. for the sale. Works for me! Now I can start packing books to move with US.

I haven't gotten around to making the collards yet, but I made a turnip soup that was unbelievably yummy yesterday. I simply took a half-dozen turnips, finely chopped the peeled roots and leaves in a handy chopper, boiled them in some water till tender (45 minutes) and boiled down a bit, then added sauted chopped onion and a dollop of butter and some heavy cream. Salt and pepper to taste.
It did illicit a very favorable response from Steve. He loved it.
