Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
What kind of phone is it? And what kind did you have prior to thenewphone?
May I ask another question?
Gandalf and Galadrial have Sauron's rings, why does it not over-power them like it did men? The Dwarves were also given rings, what happened to them?
The Dwarvish Rings
Those of the Rings of Power that Sauron gave to the Dwarves to seduce them to his service. The Dwarves proved too hardy to be lured in this way, though, and the Rings did little more than increase their native lust for gold. By the end of the Third Age, Sauron had recovered three of the Seven Rings to himself, and the other four had been consumed by dragons.
The rings worn by Gandalf, Galadriel and Elrond were not forged by Sauron.
Nenya, Narya and Vilya; the only three of the Rings of Power to be made wholly outside the influence of Sauron. Their power maintained the realms of the Elves in Middle-earth until the destruction of the Ruling Ring.
Aragorn also wore a ring that was not forged by Sauron.
A gift to Barahir and his descendants by Finrod Felagund, in reward for the saving of his life in the Dagor Bragollach. The Ring was used as a token by Barahir's son Beren Erchamion when he sought Finrod's aid in the Quest of the Silmaril, and passed down by his descendants for thousands of years. It was still an heirloom of the House of Isildur in the Third Age.
They lost them in a night of heavy drinking over a card game. They were going to get take them back but no one could remember who won that last hand.
Still don't really have it completely figured out. After all, I've been speakin' LG for a year...and now all of a sudden I have to switch to Motorola.
Did you hear the story of what happened to my original phone? Can't remember. In any case, the FIRST was an LG VX3200, which seemed to work just fine. Not the greatest reception out here, but not bad. That got kilt by a coupla siblings, and I paid full price for an LG VX3300, which was supposed to be an updated version of the same phone. But I couldn't talk to anyone out here, even out in the middle of my yard, away from any walls or such things.
Thenewphone is a Motorola V325, which I wasn't gonna confess to as it's in a completely different league price wise, though I didn't pay that price all at once being as how I'd already bought the other phone. Still...ouch. But on the other hand, I talked to my sister this morning from INSIDE my metal walled place, and it sounded like we were talkin' on a normal phone. That's awful nice.
Is anyone else having the news/activism article listing showing up like a list of pings instead of the usual short excerpts of the articles?
Our church music ministry search committee has suggested a guy for the job of Music Minister.
He's from New York.
He wore a hot pink unbuttoned at the neck shirt with hugh collar and a black suit. (He looked like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, sans platform shoes...I looked and he didn't have them on.)
He wore a mic that hooked on to his ear so he could stride quickly back and forth across the stage with his arms outstretched loudly whispering "Oh we praise you Jesus!" while the Praise Team behind him sang the same 7 words over and over, swaying back and forth with arms raised. (They repeated this mantra again during the invitation. "Just as I am" is just so out of style, I guess.)
All that was missing (besides the platform shoes, which I bet show up eventually) was a spinning mirror ball and everyone holding up lighters. But this was during the "traditional" worship service, so maybe they got to them in the contemporary service.
Certainly not you father's Southern Baptist Church any more. After the service, we voted and the guy got 96% affirmative.
I'd drive to G'nad's church if it weren't so far.
~snif~
If'n ya just had some snakes, it'd be like home.
I tell ya, I love our minister...he's really great. I love my Sunday School class...but when that guy dashed back and forth across that stage with everything but a sign around his neck saying "LookitMELookitME!", I didn't know whether to laugh at him or cry.
Yep, I was up at four this morning, scurrying around outside in the rain (which was cold) behind the house to go in my office and unplug my computer before lightning got it...kind of dragging today...Morning, everyone!
;-)
*snort* With that guy leading things, there'd be no need to do an "Elvis elopement'. You could get the same thing done right there!
I need a vacation...or a nap...or therapy...or a three-day drunk...
I'm signing off FR for a few days.
I'll be back.
It sounds like a better phone. It ~might~ be the one my mom has.
PE got a phone from work, so he didn't need his phone. He gave it to me. I still had time on my contract so I gave my phone to my mom. I upgraded from my old phone (free) before handing it over to her. Then when I got PE's phone, I hated it and wanted my old phone back. So, mom has the upgraded phone from my old contract, I have my old phone from my old contract, and PE has a newphone from work... Then I lost my beloved phone. I bought a new one (at a hugh discount since PE's contract was ready to renew) to replace myoldphone. Last month, we found myoldphone. It's still my favorite, but mynewphone is pretty neat too. No one is using PE's oldphone. Mom's old phone got recycled.
Wish I could sign off work for a few. My poison of choice is chocolate, which fortunately, is both legal and abundant at work.
lemme guess... he's single... but brought his friend, Chad, along...
I'duh been yellin' at the guy tuh get out'n the sanctuary...
A-men. (Listening to some fine traditional hymnage here. Hugh choir and orchestra, and every song written by someone who has been singing it to the Lord in person for at least 50 years.)
Ok...I *think* I've got all that. Lotta phone swapping going on!
So...I may have the one you hated. ;-) It's one that was new the first quarter of this year.
So far, I like it, though. Just hafta figure it all out.
