Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Until the stars are all alight
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

And it's a private, all boys school. They are pretty strict there.

TOP TEN SONGS 1974
1 THE WAY WE WERE by BARBRA STREISAND
2 SEASONS IN THE SUN by TERRY JACKS
3 LOVE'S THEME by LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA
4 COME AND GET YOUR LOVE by REDBONE
5 DANCING MACHINE by THE JACKSON 5
6 THE LOCO-MOTION by GRAND FUNK
7 TSOP by MFSB & THE THREE DEGREES
8 THE STREAK by RAY STEVENS
9 BENNIE AND THE JETS by ELTON JOHN
10 ONE HELL OF A WOMAN by MAC DAVIS
Bab's as #1 is durn depressing and I can do without the Jackson 5. But I do know Ray Steven's work. Elton John is one of Big'ol's faves. But the #2 album of 1974 is:
2 JOHN DENVER'S GREATEST HITS by JOHN DENVER
one of my all-time favorites. I love this album. I grew up listening to it with my parents who also loved it. I got to see him in Denver on his last tour before he died. It was such a thrill. *Lots* of happy memories tied up in that album.

Apparently Abba's career ~and~ the thread are dead... I have a colleague, an officer, who loves Earth, Wind, and Fire. Loves it. I'll call him up to talk work and it's blasting in the background. Cracks me up because you'd never guess it.
As for me, the only disco I like is Boney M. But they're quirky, so I guess that figures.

Just a reminder that tomorrow night is the *ahem* best episode of the Discovery Channel's series "FutureWeapons." It's called Maximum Impact ... for good reason. Set your TiVo's on stune!

11 to go here... I can't wait...
Oh, thunder! Maybe we really are going to get that awesome thunderstorm they promised us. The power lines here are all underground so I shouldn't lose power or anything.

How many days is your SmoochMoot gonna last this time?
Power lines underground here too, but power will still go out during storms now and again. :-/

Not long, probably one full and parts of two other days. But I have another SmoochMoot coming up at the beginning of June that should last all weekend.
Wait... and thinking about it, it's the dates of ShootMoot last year.
Nice storm so far, some good peals of thunder and a nice breeze with rain.
